Regan Reilly is in New York to attend a crime conference organized by her celebrity-author mother. A friend, Thomas Pilsner -- the frenetic president of the Settlers' Club on Gramercy Park -- calls Regan, desperately pleading for help. Thomas is distraught over the sudden suspicious deaths of two members of the Settler's Club. The men had promised to donate a cache of valuable diamonds to save the Club. But now the diamonds re gone, the men are dead, and Thomas is a mess. He fears the police will suspect he is at the heart of both mysteries, and worse yet, he'll lose his job.
Enter Regan. Who better than the star of Decked, Snagged, Iced, and Twanged to solve the mystery of the missing diamonds and the suspicious deaths? Who better to contend with quirky characterslike Lydia Sevatura, the self-styled "Princess of Love" who operates a dating service and her butler, Maldwin Feckles, who has just opened up the first school of butlering in New York City? And who better than Carol Higgins Clark whose sparkling, canny prose keeps listeners guessing to the end "who done it"?

"Fleeced was the first book that I have read by Carol Higgins Clark, and I must say that I had trouble putting it down. I had watched the tv movie Deck the Halls with the Regan Reilly character and enjoyed it so I decided to try one of the books. Luckily this book takes place soon after Deck the Halls so I was able to dive right in. Clark's Regan Reilly is a great leading character, and I thought she made a great lead detective. The mystery of the missing diamonds and the murder of their owner was good, and the many adventures that happened throughout the book as Regan tried to solve this mystery kept me turning the pages. I really like Clark's writing style because it was easy to read and the action moved very quickly. Overall this was a great read, and I look forward to reading another Regan Reilly adventure."

“A good old-fashioned mystery with the edginess and pulse of a modern Manhattan suspense thriller."
— Nelson DeMille“Like an Agatha Christie incarnation, Clark knows how to pull out the whodunit stops of yore…She cooks with the same three ingredients used by many great mystery writers of the past—elegance, wit, and a good plot.”
— Ottawa Citizen“Good enough for holiday dessert."
— Calgary Herald“Another lighthearted, easy-to-read whodunit.”
— Booklist" I have never read a book of carol's before and it was really lame. It was a very easy, very short read, but it wasn't even interesting! I do not plan on reading another book of hers. "
— Ann, 2/16/2014" keep carol sue busy while i was speeding on the highway "
— shawn, 2/8/2014" I have enjoyed all of the books in the Regan Reilly series. This one, like the others, had a good plot and kept me guessing. This series always has such quirky characters, you never know who is involved in the crime & who might just be plain strange. "
— Dawn, 2/4/2014" This is a light read with short chapters. I enjoyed it even more than the first Regan Reilly mystery I read. Clark does a nice job with setting and character development, even making the recently murdered an interesting character. "
— Lee-ann, 1/30/2014" Not one of my favorite in the Regan Reilly series, but it was a decent book. It was confusing at first with the different characters and no real introductions. "
— Annie, 1/30/2014" Light listening entertainment without much mystery. "
— Kathy, 1/28/2014" Regan Reilly is in New York to visit a convention her mother is at and to see her boyfriend. A friend of hers who is the manager of the Settlers Club asks for Regans help. Two of the members of the club have mysteriously died and the diamonds they were going to donate to the club have disappeared. An okay mystery but the booked flicked aroudn too much between characters. I'd rather it just stay focused on Regan "
— Rachel, 1/17/2014" Before he dies, Nat hides four million dollars in diamonds in his stuffed sheep. Regan is called in to investigate his death and find the diamonds. "
— Debra, 1/14/2014" it was cute and quick, a little rushed at the end which is normal for her books. but this one was better than some of her others "
— Amy, 1/11/2014" a quick light read but did not hold my attention at all. I have one more of hers in my pile that I will read simply because I have it but will not do any others I am certain.much better reads out there. "
— Michelle, 12/31/2013" Regan Reilly is back in another mystery. Good continuation of the series, although it has been awhile since I have read one. "
— Regan, 12/27/2013" This is the 6th book in a series. It is an easy read with bits of humor. This series is good without bad language or sex. "
— Christina, 12/25/2013" Another good Regan Reilly story! "
— Amy, 12/21/2013" I adore the entire Regan Reilly series. They read so quickly. I don't think it's taken me a day to read any of them. "
— Billie, 12/18/2013" Excellent mystery as usual. Without guts and gore, Carol Higgins Clark keeps you engaged and sometimes very much on the edge of your seat afraid of what might happen next. You don't know till the very end just who did it and if everything will end as it should. "
— Alexis, 12/14/2013" This is another good Regan Reilly mystery, dealing with jewels and diamonds this time. Good intrigue and suspense. Nice read! "
— Kristen, 12/12/2013" So far, Fleeced has been my absolute favorite Regan Riley novel. The hysterical cast of characters made the story. It was a light, easy read that had me laughing from start to finish. "
— Bella, 11/24/2013" cute series of books, easy read "
— Jenn, 11/2/2013" Thrilling, exciting, intriguing. I love mysteries and this book kept me guessing. I liked being a sleuth and detective trying to figure out who stole the diamonds of two dead Settlers of the Settlers' Club. Plus the book jumped from scene to scene keeping you on your toes. "
— Ariana, 10/11/2013" If you've ever read any of the Reagan Riley Mysteries, this one is very indicative of the series. It was pleasant, easy reading--not scary, gorey, no bad language... just fun. "
— Barb, 7/22/2013" She is just as amazing as her mom! "

— Elaine, 5/24/2013" Ok for YA. Fast, fun. "
— Terrie, 3/28/2013" A fun book, quick read. Part of a series--good characterizations and nice plot "
— Cyndee, 3/9/2013" Carol Higgins Clark is the daughter of Best selling author Mary Higgins Clark. Her books are enjoyable but they just don't have the flair that her mother's writing does. "
— Laurie, 1/24/2013" Not much of a mystery given this author's way of presenting both the detective's and the criminal's perspectives. What's interesting is how it all comes together in the end. "
— Michael, 1/6/2013" I was not a fan of this particular book. I love Mary Higgins Clark and her daughter is the one who wrote this and I was not as impressed as I usually am with her MOther's work. Not saying that I would never read her books again, I will try a few more maybe it was just this specific one. "
— Tana, 12/14/2012" Light, fluffy, maybe even silly. "
— Rebecca, 11/27/2012" Nice fun little mystery. Very short chapters. "
— Laurie, 11/15/2012" Not the best in this series so far. I'll try the next one, but if they don't improve, I'll give up. The narrator doesn't help - a very boring voice. "
— Jan, 10/5/2012" Probably this book should be a 3.5 but since you can't give halves I would say a 3. I enjoyed it. "
— Rita, 6/22/2012" Not as good as others but still fun. Helped me get thru the bus ride on the band trip "
— Leslie, 5/22/2012" I enjoyed this Regan Reilly mystery as much as the others! Regan's wry humor adds fun to her sleuthing. Very MILD profanity. "
