"I really enjoyed this! It wasn't a super action packed story, but I enjoyed the calm pace of the story. It's definitely leading up to more of a love story. You will definitely want to read the sequel (coming out Fall 2012), but it did stop at a good point."

“Snelling’s new historical series, Wild West Wind, is a shining star with characters who are full of life and charm and never give up. There is romance, mystery and a journey of self-discovery. Snelling knows what readers want from her novels and she has given them that and more with her latest offering.”
— RT Book Reviews (4 stars)" BORING!!! Made me miss Blessing. :-( "
— Sue, 2/7/2014" First book in a series, painfully slow - the main characters didn't even meet! This easily could have been summed up in a chapter or two of flashback in the second book. "
— Karin, 1/23/2014" Wonderfully written in a way like you are actually there with the characters. Loved it...now on to Book 2 in the series! "
— Leigh, 1/18/2014" The beginning of a wonderful new series fro lauraine Snelling. "
— Linda, 1/15/2014" This was thoroughly enjoyable. I love the way Lauraine peels back the layers of a veil, allowing her reader to see bits as they go along, tantalizing with promises of more... "
— Anna-karls, 1/12/2014" This plot was way too slow. I listened to this book while doing housework. I don't think I would have had the patience to sit down to read it. "
— Michelle, 1/11/2014" Can't wait for the next book to come out. "
— Mary, 12/17/2013" The book starts off a little slow, but they finally get to the valley and then it ends. Generally, I don't like books that go back and forth between 2 (or more) points of view. But of course this is because they will be coming together in the end. "
— Pat, 7/8/2013" Entertaining - want to read the second one in the series. "
— Nancy, 1/14/2013" It was an interesting book. I think that the author choose some good characters. I am looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book. "
— Denise, 10/10/2012" It took a little bit of time to get into the story. It seemed a little bit wimpy at first, but it got better. It was fun to listen to a light, easy read for a change. "
— Loraine, 9/22/2012" Even though this book started out a little slow, the ending made me want to keep reading to find out about the characters and their lives. Lauraine Snelling is a wonderful storyteller! "
— Shelly, 6/30/2012" A simple tale of hope and survival as Cassie makes her way across the west. She's in search of her father's land while hoping to find a place to call home. "
