Life in Perkinsville, Texas, holds great promise for Deborah Vandermark. Content in the embrace of her family, she pursues her medical studies under the tutelage of Dr. Christopher Clayton and delights in the growing affection between them. When a letter from his family sets Christopher in a tailspin, Deborah’s carefully laid plans falter. And the arrival of Jake Wythe only adds to her growing uncertainty. As she struggles against the forces of the past and the Texas land itself, will Deborah be forced to turn her back on the love taking root in her heart?

" Another great historical fiction book by Tracie Peterson. The novel Hearts Aglow continues the saga of Deborah Vandermark and her family. In this novel, Peterson delves further into the racial injustices the African-American people suffered in the late 1800's in Texas. Once again, she weaves Christian values and beliefs into the plot in a very meaningful way. I thought this novel was even better than the 1st novel in the Strike a Match series. "

" I like the way she writes. She is a christian writer and has her characters reference the scriptures many times in their day to day activities. There are always problems that come but they look and listen to God to help them out. There is nothing bad in her books. "

" What I like about Tracie Peterson is that her books are well written, greatly inspired by history, nice and clean romances, and they have strong Christian messages. I don't ever find it a waste of time to spend an afternoon or evening reading her books. "

I haven't done that in a long time. Getting ready to read the 3rd and final book, I can't wait to see what comes next. "
