"The Christian version of what I call a trashy romance novel. (Romance without the trash -- Christian version because there's a lot of praying, going to church, etc. in it and no smut, plus they actually stay chaste until they're married.) You won't actually have to read Snelling's other books before you read this one. I hadn't read any of her previous books before I read this one and didn't feel like I had missed anything major. It might encourage you to go get some of her other books though as she does reference story lines and events that I assume are in some of her previous books."

" so far, it is awesome "
— Winnie, 2/18/2014" The first in a series of 4, this book (and series) is actually a sequel to a larger series of books all about pioneers in the Red River Valley of North Dakota and (the original series spans 1880 to about 1900) takes place in the first 4 or 5 years of the 20th century. The characters in these 4 books are the daughters of the women in the first series. These books appealed to my love of all things pioneer, "Little House on the Prairie", life in simpler times, and very Christian without being preachy at all. Loved them all, can't wait to go back and read the original series. "
— Kelly, 2/7/2014" This one was painfully boring for me... somehow I finished it, but not sure why. "
— Kristi, 1/25/2014" This book has a wonderful storyline. It has a beautiful ending and the story will also make you laugh and cry. "
— Christina, 1/21/2014" i liked the setting of this book. it was told the same as i would think things would happen then. "
— Alesia, 1/21/2014" I couldn't make myself finish it. It was very slow and even halfway through the plot was just not moving quickly. Maybe I will go back to it, maybe not. "
— Kristi, 1/16/2014" Clean, but not compelling. "
— Amanda, 1/12/2014" It was soooooo long. I guess I like my stories to move along and this read like an endless preachy documentary. Not that it was poorly written or anything, but it just wasn't compelling. It took me a few weeks to listen to it because I was too bored by it to get back to it. "
— Sara, 1/11/2014" Nothing earth shattering....Just good, clean, uplifting, Christian reading "
— Joanne, 1/8/2014" A simple story about the complexity of forgiveness written in the setting of a simpler time and place. "
— Dori, 12/31/2013" This book was a nice read :) "
