“Jacky is a wonderful character, full of high spirits, brains, and heart. This novel and its two prequels are highly recommended for fans of historical fiction and pirates.”
— School Library Journal“Readers will root for resilient Jacky and her memorable friends as she cannily makes the best of even the least-promising situations. A swashbuckling saga with a decidedly unconventional heroine.”
— Booklist“A perfect homage to Patrick O'Brian's wondrous nautical tales…carefully fitted for a spirited girl.”

— Sj, 4/9/2013" I am 71 years old and have listened to the whole series that are available from the library. Katherine Kellgren, the narrator brings life to the characters with her ability to assume different accents. The historical facts were well researched and the book is totally believable. "
— Bobbie , 2/10/2013" See my review of "Bloody Jack". "
— Jennifer, 9/13/2012" I find these books to be so charming and full of wit. Being that Jacky is back on a ship in this tale, there is a return to the somewhat unrefined nature of sailors. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed this installment and am starting the next one immediately! "
— Tabitha, 5/3/2012" All of these books have been wonderful so far! "

— Kyla, 10/21/2009" I really enjoyed this installment in the series, and have been thanking my lucky stars that I was not born in the early 1800's! She is back at sea which is more the fun! Looking forward to #4 "

— Jody, 2/8/2009" Maybe my all-time favorite in the series? "
— Jenny, 9/28/2008" This was more like the first one, and I liked it better than the second. More action. I guess I'm a rebel at heart! "
— Tara, 8/7/2008" This book is my favorite the series. It gives women a little less of a fragile sense and more of a indestructable yet vulnerable headstrongness that I truly love. Definately a favorite. ^-^ "
— Madison, 3/5/2008" This is my favorite by far in the series. There is tons of dramatic irony and tons of playful romance, which I love. Also this is the one where the characters are mostly at sea and all of the adventure deals with pirateing. It is a great read. "
