On the very day that Jacky Faber is to wed her true love, she is kidnapped by British Naval Intelligence and forced to embark on yet another daring mission—this time to search for sunken Spanish gold. But when Jacky is involved, things don’t always go as planned. Jacky has survived battles on the high seas, the stifling propriety of a Boston finishing school, and even confinement in a dank French prison. But no adventure has quite matched her opportunistic street-urchin desires—until now.

"I think this one might be my favorite book, although to grab Jacky on her wedding day is just low. I thought it was interesting that it had so many of her former "friends" there. Jacky is about to marry Jaimy when she is kidnapped and forced to go on another spy mission to the Carribean, to get sunken Spanish Treasure for King George, to fuel the war in France and also to redeem herself after stealing one of the King's ships. Jaimy accompanies but on a separate ship, and I thought their chastity vow was pretty funny. I'm glad he was more a part of the book this time, instead of an afterthought, like in most of the books. Jacky gets involved in all kinds of crazy adventures, which she gets out of by the skin of her teeth. Though now, I really really want her and Jaimy to marry, which I hope the author will accomplish by the 8th book due out at the end of the year--long time for me to wait for the next part of the story though."

“Fans who have read the previous titles in the series will be treated to a fresh escapade and familiar characters but the story can stand alone for new readers. This will appeal to anyone who enjoys historical fiction, strong female heroines, adventure, and pirates.”
— VOYA“Fans of the series will eat this title up.”
— School Library Journal“The author has done his homework, weaving many painless history lessons into the book. With its strong female character, fast pace, and fine writing, this will be a book difficult for the young adult reader to put down and one that will leave the reader craving the next title.”
— Children’s Literature“Meyer weaves details of nineteenth-century history, lore, and ballads into a fast-paced and often amusing swashbuckler. Fans of the Bloody Jack Adventure series will relish the latest escapades of this high-spirited and decidedly unconventional heroine.”
— Booklist" I love the entire Bloody Jack Series and this book is no different. Bloody Jack is one of the few series that doesn't lose it's charm through length. Still my fav at Book 7! Jacky Faber is the reluctant heroine who is always there for her friends no matter the risk, she also struggles with the temptations we all have. "
— Melinda, 2/18/2014" My favorite out of the Bloody Jack Adventures so far, it was awesome and very well done!! "
— Redwallcrazy-, 11/3/2013" I'm going back and changing all my Bloody Jack books to 5 stars. I've so thoroughly enjoyed this entire series that I've just sailed through them so quickly. They are definitely a fun series that is worth reading all 7 books (so far). Can't wait for another one to come out. I enjoyed all the scenes with Jaimy this book. Even though Jaimy has always been love choice #1, I always thought they should spend more time together to make sure he was reconciled with her adventurous, wild ways. Well, more of that happened in this book, and should they ever get married for real, I won't worry that he'll try to change her. And all of that makes sense because these are real people, right? Okay, I know they aren't, but they are such loveable characters as written that they might as well all be my best friends. :) "
— Chelsea, 8/27/2013" Yet another stellar installment in a devourable series. "
— Emily, 8/18/2013" well. I think I am about done with this series. I'm a bit bored with Jamie and this one was pretty predictable... "
— Lisa, 8/14/2013" Jacky Faber does it again, dodging in and out of trouble. Go get em Jacky!!! "
— Malia, 12/9/2012" I've been listening to the audio book versions of the Jacky Faber series and the narrator, Kathrine Kellgren, is simply AMAZING. In fact, it's wrong to call her "the narrator." She performs these books as if a one-woman theater. I can't believe all those voices come out of one person! "
— Tess, 4/25/2012" I'm going to read it again. "
— Casey, 9/27/2011" AWESOME!! Jackie is a mermaid and I literally laughed out loud when little Mary comes into the book. "
— Jenny, 8/6/2011" Another fun adventure...I'm not getting tired of this series yet! Love this character! "
— Alisa, 1/9/2011" I know I haven't read the book yet, but know it deserves a five star rating, as do all the books in this fabulous Bloody Jack series!! I just cannot wait till I can tear up the next book and dicover what happens next to Jacky! God, the 28th August seems so far away- I want to read that book NOW! "
— Cheezcake, 9/12/2010" Clever and delightfully sinful, as always. "
— Ariel, 8/11/2010" Yet another fabulous additon to this great series! I always have a blast when I'm hanging around Jacky... I can't help it! A must-read for everyone ages 12 & up. "
— Sarah, 2/25/2010" This one might be the last one here, because the library doesn't have the eighth one. Oh well. Anyway, Jacky in again a spy and is looking for a treasure for the King George, but of course, things get in the way. This might've been the best of all of the series! "
— Madeline, 1/31/2010" AMAZING!!!! This was sooo good!

*SPOILER*

I knew Jaimy and Jacky weren't going to get married some how!! And thats just the beginning! The iron bell, Flaco the pirate!!! Oh, this book is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!! "
