1777: In the throes of the Revolutionary War, Landon Mansion is commandeered by British Lord "Butcher" Bedford. He stabs Lucy Tarleton—who spurned his king and his love—leaving her to die in her father's arms.
NOW: After the day's final tour, docent Allison Leigh makes her rounds while locking up...and finds a colleague slumped over Bedford's desk, impaled on his own replica bayonet.
Resident ghosts may be the stock-in-trade of stately Philadelphia homes, but Allison—a noted historian—is indignant at the prospect of "ghost hunters" investigating this apparent murder.
Agent Tyler Montague knows his hauntings and his history. But while Allison is skeptical of the newcomer, a second mysterious murder occurs. Has "Butcher" Bedford resurfaced? Or is there another malevolent force at work in Landon Mansion? Wary, yet deeply attracted, Allison has to trust in Tyler and work with him to discover just what uninvited guest—dead or alive—has taken over the house.
Or their lives could become history!

"I love this series. I also love Heather Graham's paranormal stories. The UNSPOKEN was my favorite in this series, but I enjoyed all the books. Four stars because she doesn't get as "in depth" with the story as she has with others."
— Patricia (4 out of 5 stars)
" I liked the way the ghosts were woven into the story; they were not an oddity, just another part of the world- rather like Jayne Ann Krentz's Arcane series "
— Carrie, 2/19/2014" I love Graham's Krewe series. "
— Karen, 2/11/2014" Good, but a bit long-winded on the historical to the detriment of the plot I though. Although the history was interesting. "
— Edward, 2/8/2014" Another book to celebrate October! This time, Heather Graham takes a walk back to the Revolutionary War in Philadelphia ...with a direct line to today's murders that continue from the opening pages. Graham has done solid historical research to support her setting for this book. She easily ties together patriots spies and war battles, as well as vists from the those who seek the truth of nearly 250 years ago. Of course, she ties in today's murder with today's romance. This book is a great escape to celebrate Halloween! "
— Jennifer, 1/28/2014" Fun but super romance novel-y "
— Wonderlandkat, 1/4/2014" I have loved all the Krewe books, but I think this is my favorite. I love history, and I actually learned some new history facts in this book. "
— Rosa, 12/24/2013" it was ok a bit too much play on the sexy cowboy but it was ok story. "
— Rachel, 12/6/2013" This one was just ok for me, and I'm not sure why. I did like that the romance was toned down a bit this time, but the ghosts and the mystery just weren't as interesting to me, I guess. "
— Meredith, 11/28/2013" It amazing what a variety of quality Heather Graham has produced in her career. She written books that simply terrible and books that were very, very good. This ghost story is one of the good ones. "

— Shawn, 3/25/2013" I liked this book and plot a lot. The sotry line moves fairly quickly and keeps the reader turning the pages...the idea of Revoluntionary War time ghosts and even a ghost dog and horse, make the story all the more enjoyable. "
