Publisher Description

The 1940s: hard-boiled detectives and femmes fatale are box-office gold. In one iconic scene, set in a deserted museum, the private eye arrives too late, and the buxom beauty is throttled by an ominous Egyptian priest. Now: the Black Box Cinema immortalizes Hollywood’s Golden Age in its gallery of film noir tributes. But the mannequin of that Egyptian priest is hardly lifeless. He walks – and a young starlet dies a terrifying death. Movie mogul Eddie Archer’s son is charged with the grisly murder. Eddie calls agent Sean Cameron, who specializes in…irregular investigations. As part of an FBI paranormal forensics team, Cameron knows that nightmares aren’t limited to the silver screen. Working with special-effects artist Madison Darvil – who has her own otherworldly gifts – Cameron delves into the malevolent force animating more than one movie monster….

"Enjoyable novel with a few twists I didn't see comilng. Madison is very likable, friendly, charming. Sean is handsome, protective, but not too overly protective, just how I like my heroes. Love the addition of Madison's sometimes house guest as well. The perfect amusing touch."

" I liked it. I thought the romance was great, the suspense was great. It wasn't obvious who the bad guy was right from the start, but I had a hard time getting why the bad guy targeted the heroine. May have to reread and see if I missed something, but the overall story was really good. I also wasn't a huge fan of the ghost being a famous celebrity. I think it is risky because people may have preconceived ideas about what celebrities may have been like. Of course, depending on how old the reader is, that may be a complete non-issue. :) "

" I like the Krewe of Hunters series, so I did enjoy this one set in Hollywood. Yes, they are formulaic but they are also enjoyable and well written, so I'll keep reading them. "

" It was okay. This was not the first book in the series. Still it stood alone fairly well. Still the best part of the book was Bogie "

" This wasn't my favorite Heather Graham book. At times it seemed a bit like a Scooby Doo mystery and the romance felt forced. It would have almost been better if it was left out. "

" A very well written book, filled with lots of action. There was many twists and turns and I thought I had the Villian figured out and I was wrong. I like that when the author can surprise me with the 'who-done-it' at the end! Can't wait for the next one to come out! "

" Typical Heather Graham, good story line although I figured out who the "bad guys" were fairly close to starting the book. It's not a literary masterpiece but a good read if you're looking for something a little spooky with a happy ending. "
