Publisher Description

Imogen, Lady Maitland, has decided to dance on the wild side. After all, she's in the delicious position of being able to take a lover. A discreet male who knows just when to leave in the morning.

But Lady Maitland is still under the watchful eye of her former guardian, the wildly untamed Rafe, the Duke of Holbrook. He believes she is still in need of a "watchdog." She laughs at the idea that someone so insufferably lazy and devoted to drink can demand that she behave with propriety.

It's Rafe's long-lost brother, a man who looks precisely like the duke but with none of his degenerate edge, who interests Imogen. To Imogen, he's the shadow duke . . . the man who really should hold the title. But when Imogen agrees to accompany Gabe to a masquerade...whose masked eyes watch her with that intense look of desire? Who exactly is she dancing with? The duke or the shadow duke? Rafe . . . or Gabe?

"Wonderful, wonderful book! Love Rafe, love Imogen (after hating her in the previous 2 books in this series), love Gillian and Gabriel. But I love Rafe the most - how could anyone help it? The love scenes are absolutely delicious, as is the humour which laces through the book."

" Really liked it, such a classic. Upon rereading, I thought the end was tied up a bit too fast (and neatly), but I love Imogen and Rafe together. Now I'm excited to read the last sister's book! "

" I just started reading Eloisa James with the Fairy Tale series which I liked. This one sounded good, but I found myself powering through it because some chapters were kind of boring. I thought that it didn't have much of a plot to fit a whole novel, so she added other storylines to beef it up. "

" Eloisa James wraps up the Essex Sisters series by putting Rafe in the romantic spotlight, and acknowledging all that drinking he's been doing over the last three books in the series... a fun ending to a fun quartet. "

" I really loved Rees and Imogen's romance. It was illicit, adventurous and delicious. I didn't like Imogen's character until this book. Rees cleans up to be quite a dashing and delectable hero. The Essex Sisters are a great series. "

" dari awal emg kurang suka ama imogen,, childish, selfish, 'blind' woman.. tp terharu bgt ama rafe.. mau struggle cuma buat dapetin cewe kaya imogen.. rada ga sepadan sih.. yg buat gw ga bosen ama ni buku cuma rafe n imogen smart argument,, really entertaining,, "

" A surprisingly great book. I certainly wasn't expecting to root for the main (and side) couples as much as I did, but the book really sold them to me. Plus, crossdressing! And ~mistaken identities~! And plays!!!! "

" The book was all over the place with multiple charachters, it was sometimes hard to follow them. I would get into one storyline but the next chapter would jump to a new character. Overall the book was an enjoyable read, of the male characters, I loved Rafe! "

" I've been reading (and enjoying) this series quite a lot. Through it all, however, I've found Imogen a spoiled rotten brat who I just wanted to strangle. This was her story - and while she was better in this book - well a little too late as far as I'm concerned! "
