The world is in shock when Michelangelo's David is stolen from a museum in Florence, Italy. The latest in a series of audacious thefts of historical treasures, it's only a matter of time before another priceless artefact is targeted.
When the Talonor Codex—a great Atlantean explorer's account of his travels—is stolen, it becomes clear that the thefts form only part of the raiders' ultimate plan. The codex holds clues to the location of the Vault of Shiva and its fabled contents—the legendary Shiva-Vedas, the chronicles of the ancient Hindu god of destruction. Witnesses to the latest daring robbery, archaeologist Nina Wilde and former SAS soldier Eddie Chase are forced into a treacherous hunt across the world to discover the vault before its secrets fall into dangerous hands. The vault's prize is a treasure beyond price, but it may also be the catalyst for global annihilation.

"This is the 6th book in the Nina Wilde series and was a bit different than the 1st 5. This time instead of searcing for some long lost treasure or artifact, Nina & her husband try to stop a mad billionaire from destroying the world. Of course it had the usual long chase and fight scenes that are typical for this series. There are also some descriptive scenes where various characters get injured or killed - not for the faint-of-heart. All-in-all a good easy read."

“Raises the bar to please adventure junkies who prefer to mainline their action.”
— Publishers Weekly (starred review), on The Hunt for Atlantis" Typical Nina and Eddie I'm beginning to think they are indestructible or from the planet Krypton :-) but still not a bad tale and linking to the last and next so let's see what happens next "
— Nigel, 2/12/2014" Yes, its more of the same but it really doesnt matter because McDermott writes so entertaining and he doesnt take his stories or characters very seriously and they are so much better for it. One of the better in the series. On to the next one! "
— Mattias, 1/31/2014" I found this book quite entertaining. This is a husband and wife version of Indiana Jones and the action is non-stop. I hadn't read the previous books in the series but I will be soon. "
— Larry, 12/28/2013" More enjoyable than the last couple. Interested to see how the Group cliffhanger will pan out in future works. "
— J.S., 12/27/2013" Another great adventure with Nina and Eddie. "
— Tara, 12/26/2013" Another great, exciting and informative adventure for Nina Wilde, very well wrtitten, although I'm not sure what genre the book fits into. "
— Daragh, 12/16/2013" another fast paced adventure with nina and eddie "
— Keith, 11/29/2013" More exciting adventure for Chase and Wilde who seem to hurtle around the globe in this fast-paced action thriller. "
— Winnie, 10/26/2013" Reading first book of Andy McDermott. It would have been a great read if the author had cut short the story to 400 pages. Too much of action and description. Still its a good read. "
— Vijay, 10/5/2013" Even though I'm a fan of the history/archeology/thrill-genre, this one didn't do it for me. The story was too flimsy and the action sequences too long and fairly gory. The characters weren't well developed, the dialogue was trite. "
— JulieLaLa, 9/25/2013" Exactly what I've come to expect from this series. The best action scenes out there, some truly excruciating puns, and a wonderful relationship between Eddie Wilde and Nina Chase. I ripped through this in about three protracted sittings and loved every moment. Looking forward to the next one. "
— Jonathan, 8/27/2013" Blended some of the Shiva Mythos into the story line and kept the quest to find the secret vault hidden in plain sight interesting. Other than that it was pretty much the same plot line as similar works of fiction like Clive Cussler. "
— Sunilkumar, 8/25/2013" These books are a good quick read with plenty of excitement. Following Nina and Eddie around the world exploring archeological wonders and saving the world from destruction at the same time is cool. "
— Kendall, 5/8/2013" Should have been a movie script. "
— Tarfah, 4/19/2013" good book, typical for author "
— Stan, 3/13/2013" Nt as good as the next one, but still an interesting and explosive trip through the Himalayas and India while Nina and Eddie try to find the ancient Shiva-Veda's (writings) before yet another doomsday apocalyptic group do... "
— Kirsten, 2/12/2013" I love these characters and the relationship they have. The only thing I find tedious are the action scenes, too drawn out so I find myself skipping pages without missing any gist of the story "
— Daniel, 6/1/2012" This was an okay book.. He has written better.. Like his other novels, which I enjoyed reading, I take the story for what it's worth, and enjoy the adventure tale.. "
— Steve, 2/22/2012" Another great book by Andy McDermott. The action and adventure continues non-stop from the beginning to the end. It will keep you reading and enjoying. A good read for all. "
— Larry, 12/26/2011" More enjoyable than the last couple. Interested to see how the Group cliffhanger will pan out in future works. "
— Gracielunalee, 6/17/2011" This was an okay book.. He has written better.. Like his other novels, which I enjoyed reading, I take the story for what it's worth, and enjoy the adventure tale.. "
— Steve, 6/8/2011" THIS NOVEL LIKE THE ONES BEFORE, IS FULL OF ACTION, MYSTERY, SUSPENSE AND ALL THE ELEMENTS THAT MAKES A GOOD ADVENTURE NOVEL WORTH READING. TWO THUMBS UP! "
— Antonio, 5/28/2011" lot of action packed inside a little book
too much of it jus put me off at times "
— Rajitha, 4/18/2011" These books are entertaining but you have to take them for what they are. The situations the characters get in are so over the top and the methods used to get them out of trouble are equally so.

Good throw away beach novel you probably would never read twice. "
— Jason, 4/6/2011" I am in the mood for a little treasure hunting suspense..hope I'm not disappointed.

Well I wasn't disappointed...It was full of action and was just a good read. Once again though I started with the last one and now I have to read the rest. "
— Ann, 4/3/2011" Another great, exciting and informative adventure for Nina Wilde, very well wrtitten, although I'm not sure what genre the book fits into. "
— Chonaic17, 2/17/2011" another fast paced adventure with nina and eddie "
— Keith, 2/1/2011" Great holiday read.A big adventure book to have by the pool or on the beach also on a long haul flight.Smashing "
— stan, 1/22/2011" It was a good action book without too much drawn out detail so it flowed fast. I'm not too keen on reading the "F" word in books, so that put me off a bit. I didn't get a good connection with the two main characters (especially Eddie) which I thought was a bit weird as usually I do. "
