" I listen to an audio book for a half hour every night with my 11 year old son before bed. The Rangers Apprentice series by John Flanagan and his Brotherband Series are his and my favorite books. I like it because of no bad language, no magic, and good life lessons, good humor. Yet there is plenty of thrilling excitement. We have listened to every book in both series and they are our favorites. "

" I love the wit that the characters display. The interactions between the characters are also really great. I think it is amazing that when so many other series have started to lose their edge this one is still going strong. This was a great read. These guys sure know how to find trouble and then extricate themselves from it. I would definitely recommend this series for boys since they would love all the adventures. "

" I have read and enjoyed all the books of the ranger's apprentice and the brothers band. I also, enjoy John Keating as the narrator. I read the books on my e-reader and then bought them all in paper back and now on audiobooks. This book is very well written book that sucks you and makes you want to know what is going to happen. "

About John Flanagan

John A. Flanagan grew up in Sydney, Australia hoping to be a writer. It wasn’t until he wrote a highly uncomplimentary poem about a senior executive at the agency he worked, however, that his talent was revealed. It turned out one of the company directors agreed with John’s assessment of the executive, and happily agreed to train John in copywriting. After writing advertising copy for the next two decades, John teamed with an old friend to develop a television sitcom, Hey Dad!, which went on to air for eight years. John began writing the Ranger’s Apprentice series as a way to encourage his son, Michael, to enjoy reading. He currently lives in the suburb of Manly, Australia, with his wife.
