"Ramona is one of the most endearing, and real, child characters in juvenile literature. The situations she finds herself in, from bravely taking the school bus for the first time to getting sick in front of her entire 3rd grade class, are experiences many children have had. And, Cleary explains these situations in a voice that sounds like that of a 3rd grader, with a touch of humor thrown in. Further, the variety of emotions, concerns and fears Ramona expresses show the reader that feeling happy, sad, scared or angry are normal emotions that all children have, and young readers can relate to. I would recommend this story, and the other books in the Ramona series, to any child who likes to read about real children living through real life experiences."

" This was a fantastic deal with the Flex Pass sign up! The whole audio collection is so fun. We listened to the first 4 books and giggled, laughed, and enjoyed them so much during our long car trip. My children all enjoy listening and want to turn it on even while we run around town for errands. We love hearing about all of Ramona's antics and the interesting, exciting, and sometimes challenging process of growing up without yet being grown up. Such a fun story about being a family. My kids are 8, 6, and 5 and they enjoy all of these books, and so do I! "
— JoyM, 7/6/2020" Beverly Clearly was the one getting me in trouble all those years when I'd get caught with a flashlight under the covers and the excuse "just one more chapter!" My love for reading started here - so I have to pay my respect. "

— Sophia, 11/16/2011Beverly Cleary (1916–2021) was an American author of highly acclaimed fiction for children and young adults, including the Henry Huggins series, Ramon Quimby series, stand-alone novels, picture books, and two memoirs. Some of her many awards include the Newbery Medal, the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award, and the National Medal of Arts. She was born in McMinnville, Oregon, and lived on a farm in Yamhill, a town so small it had no library. Her mother arranged to have books sent to their tiny town from the state library and acted as a librarian in a room over a bank. It was there that she learned to love books. Generations of children have grown up with Ramona Quimby, Henry Huggins, Ralph Mouse, and all of their friends, families, and assorted pets. Her books continue to capture the hearts and imaginations of children of all ages throughout the world.
