" Part of a series of books. Each can stand alone but it is a compelling story of kids in an orphanage that decided they wanted a family. Once they became of age they petitioned the court to change their last name and became the family they so missed. The books show the dedication and devotion to each other all families should aspire to have and be. "

" I enjoyed this book - it's about a strong woman character who has to let go of some of her self-sufficiency to allow for somebody else to protect her when she is targeted by someone who wants to kill her. There is suspense and action, but it is obvious in parts of the story that this book is a bit dated. I will probably read the next books in the series, just to see how they develop all of the characters that were introduced in this book. "

" I was really into this book about an orphan girl, now fighting her fears by being the city's top crisis negotiator. She gets involved in a case that makes her face her past. Really pretty good. Very clean. I am checking out some more of this aithor's books at the library. "

" I was immediately drawn into this book. It was a tough one to put down. Kate (the "negotiator") is not really a character that I can relate to (I am kind of wimpy where Kate is anything BUT wimpy)but I liked her nonetheless. It is a quick read and one you won't regret. "
