Plot Summary

The Guardian is book #2 in the O'Malley series by Christian writer Dee Henderson. The series reflects the lives and actions of seven people, each one having been abandoned or orphaned during his or her teen years. They have chosen to band together, to gain inspiration from each other and to form their own family, taking the last name O'Malley as their family name.

Marcus O'Malley, one of the seven, has become a U.S. Marshall. A federal judge has been murdered just prior to being appointed to a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court. His speech writer, Shari Hanford, who is also a Christian, actually sees the murderer after witnessing the event and can bring damaging testimony. As a result, her life is in serious danger.

They want her dead.

Marcus O'Malley's job is to protect herand he plans to do his job and to do it well. What he has not counted on is his own attraction to the intended target. She has captured his heart, bringing him an entirely new set of circumstances. They share their faiths and hearts with each other, and survival takes on a whole new meaning.

The action and suspense within this audiobook will keep the listener entertained throughout the entire narrative. Stories from other members of the O'Malley family filter in and out, adding depth and interest to the surface story.

Dee Henderson is a contemporary novelist who writes inspirational books dealing with her faith and the struggles people have in their lives. Her suspense books have received numerous awards, including the National Reader's Choice Award and Bookseller's Best Award. "The Guardian" is a Christy Award winner.

Henderson has written over 14 best-selling novels. She has spent her life living in Illinois, where she continues to write.

"A federal judge is murdered under the watch of US marshal, Marcus O'Malley. As he and his team investigate the shooting he meets Sheri. A close friend of the judge and who's father was also killed in the shooting, tas he protects her they begin to fall in love. They grow together as she teaches him about God's love and believing in prayer. This is a great book, especially people who love a good action book, and also a little romance as well. It has a great story about God's love and prayer in it too. I recommend it to people who enjoy these things. Also to those who have read the previous book in the series. I gave this a 5 because it has everything I enjoy in a book, it didn't bore me and it also allowed me to look a at my own spiritual life and reflect on it. There were some great lines in the book, for example, "someone has to stat with Marcus so he will stay out of trouble." This line shows how devoted he is to his job. Another one is, "If the clutter bothers me before it does me, I pick it up." It builds on his character and shows he is patient and he will sacrifice for his team and others. The last one is, "She tried to scream and when it came, it ripped from the back of her throat" This line built the intensity of the scene. This author reminded me of Frank Peretti, another christian author whose writing style is very simular. I took this book's message and applied it to my life ans asked myself if my prayer life was the way that it should be. I also wondered how far off this book www as from reality. Could this story be close to another of an actual incident?"

" Part of a series of books. Each can stand alone but it is a compelling story of kids in an orphanage that decided they wanted a family. Once they became of age they petitioned the court to change their last name and became the family they so missed. The books show the dedication and devotion to each other all families should aspire to have and be. "
