FBI Special agent Brad Raines is facing his toughest case yet. A Denver serial killer has killed four beautiful young women, leaving a bridal veil at each crime scene, and he's picking up his pace. Unable to crack the case, Raines appeals for help from a most unusual source: residents of the Center for Wellness and Intelligence, a private psychiatric institution for mentally ill individuals whose are extraordinarily gifted.
It's there that he meets Paradise, a young woman who witnessed her father murder her family and barely escaped his hand. Diagnosed with schizophrenia, Paradise may also have an extrasensory gift: the ability to experience the final moments of a person's life when she touches the dead body.
In a desperate attempt to find the killer, Raines enlists Paradise's help. In an effort to win her trust, he befriends this strange young woman and begins to see in her qualities that most 'sane people' sorely lack. Gradually, he starts to question whether sanity resides outside the hospital walls . . . or inside.
As the Bride Collector picks up the pace-and volume-of his gruesome crucifixions, the case becomes even more personal to Raines when his friend and colleague, a beautiful young forensic psychologist, becomes the Bride Collector's next target.
The FBI believes that the killer plans to murder seven women. Can Paradise help before it's too late?

"I enjoyed this novel and the look into the mind of mental illness. Although I find the love story to be a little far-fetched, I did enjoy the book and it kept me on the edge of my seat. This is the first book I've read by this author, but I'll definitely be looking into more of his work later on. "

“New York Times bestselling author Dekker returns with another piece of dark fiction in which a serial killer takes center stage…Dekker is well known for incorporating spiritual elements (without sermonizing) into his suspense thrillers, and his latest is no exception.”
— Library Journal" It was ok. The second chapter was a little disturbing. "
— Mysterylady, 5/16/2011" Good detective story and then some. Really enjoyed this.

"
— Cindy, 5/15/2011" This sucked. I could barely get through the first couple chapters. "
— Genie, 5/14/2011" His best book of all !! "
— Heather, 5/6/2011" Only on page 30--so far, so good. "
— Laurel, 4/11/2011" Too long and tedious especially the audiobook "
— Vamsi, 4/10/2011" The book was readable. I would read another of his books. He touched on Paradise's background but if he gave hints as to what happened to her I felt he could have actually told us her background. If the author thought it didn't matter, then why even touch on it. "
