"I liked this one better than the first two in this series. I'm currently rereading all of her books and Laurens is dfinately a formula writer. This book was a still identifiably a Laurens book but she shook up the formula a little and the plot was a little more original for her."

“The third volume of the Black Cobra Quartet is nothing short of incredible! The compelling story has well-crafted three-dimensional characters who are passionate, honorable and understand the underlying power of love and the value of humanity. Laurens raises the standard for excellence in this must-read book.”
— RT reviews (top pick)“Another captivating romantic tale. Prepare yourself for tons of action and quick-witted thinking.”
— Fresh FictionSimon Prebble's extraordinary acting talents; his rich, mesmerizing, British-accented voice; his flawless timing and subtle pacing—all lift this…Regency romantic suspence.”
— AudioFile" Enjoyable, suspenseful, fun (at times). I like the characters and seeing all the various teams coalesce. However, there are plot holes developing in this series. Or at the very least issues in logic. For instance, when the cultists attack Linnet's ship as it crosses the Channel, had they been attacking every ship that made the crossing from any island or from France? How did they know it was the right ship? Other issues arise in Logan's recovery timeline and his abilities immediately after being nearly frozen, nearly drowned and, oh yeah, sliced open to the ribs. "
— Rachel, 1/24/2014" hot hot hot until the last 1/3. lost some steam and push.... "
— Marti, 1/23/2014" I simply didn't care for this book. "
— Michael, 1/5/2014" The Black Cobra series of books has been interesting and full of suspense. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I think it should be the last and should reveal all secrets. "
— Gail, 12/17/2013" I think this book gets let down compared to The Untamed Bride and The Elusive Bride because it's a lot less about the action of the Black Cobra and a lot more about the romance. Even though the books are essentially Regency romances, this quartet should be as much about the Black Cobra as about the romance. However, I do love that the heroine is so different in this book than the previous two - she's not a 'typical' woman but the captain of her own boat, not a typical society miss. I think the women in the quartet all compliment each other, as the men do. "
— Helene, 12/14/2013" this is the third book a Laurens newest series. I liked the book, but I got really tired of the female characters ever present doughts. I would have liked it better if she would have stopped having so little faithe in the hero of the story. "
— Sgjgig, 11/27/2013" Linnet and Logan, 3rd in the series. "
— Ali, 11/24/2013" I like these books and the concept it presents. Intrigue, the chase, the sparks of romance. Good interactions with the characters - primary and secondary. Nice finish with revisiting the Cynster clan. Makes one want to revisit all those books too. "
— Josephine, 11/21/2013" I loved it from start to finish!!! "
— Vanessa, 11/17/2013" She dragged the story on like anything ... Totally lost all patience for it. "
— Aparna, 10/10/2013" The whole story wasn't so bad, but then half the book is just sex, which I skipped over and can't be bothered to read. It turned out to be a very short story once all the garbage was out of the way. "
— Annette, 8/22/2013" The heroine is a ship captain. That's awesome. The adventure continues. Lots more story development. Already started 4th and final book in quartet! "
— Holly, 8/10/2013" Lot of love scene in the beginning and sward fights. Quick to wrap up, easy read. "
— Sarah, 2/5/2013" First half was boring. Second half fitting with the rest of the quartet. Thus far, not my fave of the quartet. "
— E., 12/3/2012" In a way i found myself to be close to the character of linnet and i enjoyed her role as a leader and as a lordess of her domain. "
— Christeen, 8/7/2012" This book tries to do too much, making the whole somewhat tedious. Prefer her older, lighter romances. "
— Bohemianchelle, 3/23/2012" Amazing book and serie. "
— Kbee, 3/1/2012" The best of the quartet yet. I liked how the author gave some foreground to the main characters of this book. The first 2books didn't really give "personal profiles",if you will, to their main characters. So I will continue on with the last installment in this series. "
— Janet, 2/20/2012" Another exciting book "
— Brenda, 1/16/2012" Lot of love scene in the beginning and sward fights. Quick to wrap up, easy read. "
— Sarah, 3/31/2011" Nothing like a good romance every once in a while. The beginning left me a little sceptical but once I got past that, it ended up being a pretty OK story. Don't read if you are offended by love scenes. They're pretty descriptive. "
— Kathy, 3/3/2011" I don't know why people gush over Stephanie Laurens. The whole thing- setting, plot, heroine, hero-- were so unlikely that it spoiled the whole thing for me. "
— Andrea, 2/28/2011" Delivered what I expected - not bad for a post-oral surgery drug-addled pharmacy purchase. "
— Theresa, 1/3/2011" I liked the first two in this series, this one fell flat. "
— Tealen, 12/31/2010" This one took me a while to get through but only because I have been busy. I'm looking forward to the finale in the next book of the series! "
— Andrea, 10/20/2010" I loved it from start to finish!!! "
— Vanessa, 10/11/2010" Damn book ended before it should of! "
— Shelly, 9/30/2010" The best of the quartet to date - the female character was interesting and the plot was fast-moving. More like other Stephanie Laurens books than the other two of this series! "
— Greta, 9/19/2010" Poorly written and no plot. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone. "
