Robert Greene's previous bestseller, The 48 Laws of Power, distilled 3,000 years of scheming into a guide People praised as "beguiling... literate... fascinating" and Kirkus denounced as "an anti-Book of Virtues." In Art of Seduction, Greene returns with a new instruction book on the most subtle, elusive, and effective form of power—because seduction isn't really about sex. It's about manipulating other people's greatest weakness: their desire for pleasure. Synthesizing the work of thinkers including Freud, Diderot, Nietzsche, and Einstein, reporting the enticing strategies of characters throughout history, The Art of Seduction is a comprehensive guide to getting what we want—any way we can.

"This book was fascinating!!! I couldn't put it down. While I'm not sure I could ever actually implement the strategies and carry out a seduction, it gave me lots of good ideas on how to deal with people and win them over to my point of view in a way they will actually enjoy. I think the Machiavellian slant is kind of funny. If you're really so cold and calculating about it, the seduction turns into nothing more than a power game really, and what's the fun in that? I sort of felt like smacking him over the head and saying HELLOOOOOO in that regard. But I found the profiles, archetypes, strategies, and anecdotes absolutely fascinating. I want to read the rest of his books now."

" My biggest regret is that I got the abridged version. Under the reviews for the full version they said it was too redundant and the author went in to too much detail. As I went through the abridged version I felt that the author did not explain enough. This was a great read and provides information that gives you a huge social advantage which is always very useful to have. I highly recommend. "
— Calvin, 1/7/2019" It teaches some useful actions or thinking processes of how to act according to what outcome you want to more often than not happen. "
— Alan, 2/11/2014" didn't finish on purpose. it was "EH..." "
— Long, 2/7/2014" A great read. It assumes that you are a liar and manipulator by nature, but once you get past that, it's a fascinating study. Some great annecdotes from famous figures in history make it enthralling in parts. "
— Jack, 2/6/2014" A bit manipulative, but a whole lot of fun! Great romantic stories and quotes. "
— Rosanna, 1/16/2014" This book is incredible and evil. It will literally guide you into how to manipulate people, whether it be for business or pleasure, and how to do it so they think it's their idea. In the right hands, it can be a little nudge to help you along. In the wrong hands, it becomes a way to become the ultimate predator. "
— Kitty, 1/9/2014" A great book on all the different ways of seduction. You get a good general idea, but the book does not give you practical examples that you can use to give you a better understanding of the strategy. "
— Douglas, 1/9/2014" Somewhat interesting but often seems to confuse cause and effect as it tells stories of seduction and appears to make the implicit assumption that similar actions are always part of seduction. "
— Bill, 1/2/2014" Great read allot of history lessons and wisdom lie in this book check it out "
— Dennis, 1/2/2014" Seductive.... "

— Christi, 11/18/2013" Phenomenal. However, very manipulative if used in the wrong context. Nonetheless, a very interesting book, especially historically. "
— Coco, 11/13/2013" SIMPLY IRRESISTABLE BOOK "
— Sema, 8/22/2013" I despise this book and people who would emulate these behaviours to take advantage of others. "
— Moira, 5/12/2013" Very interesting psychology behind it and backed with biographical info on famous people who are considered sexy like Marlyn Monroe. Fascinating to read, nicely sectioned for easy reading. "

— Charles, 2/11/2012" Plenty of good examples. "
— Shawn, 2/6/2012" this book is very text heavy, not well organized, and very slow in parts. but it is an interesting look at how and why we become infatuated with people, things, and ideas. more a collection of cautionary tales, perhaps, rather than a primer or how-to. "
— Jamie, 1/29/2012" Greene is a good author that i will like 2 read all his books "

— Faith, 12/26/2010" Dude is a great author "
— Varrsity, 11/29/2010" An interesting look at seduction. It provides a more well informed look at the game that players and pimps have understood for years. More than that, it also may be helpful in maintaining relations long after the honeymoon period. "
