Publisher Description

Michael Buckley's Sisters Grimm books blend humor, mystery, and fantasy. They have earned him numerous accolades, including two Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Awards. In their sixth adventure, Sabrina and Daphne must defend their friend Mr. Canis (aka the Big Bad Wolf ) when he is put on trial by the Everafters for his past crimes. It'll take all of the sisters' skills to outwit the merciless Queen of Hearts, who is determined to kick Canis and the Grimms out of Ferryport Landing-forever.

"This book, "Tales From the Hood," is not about a crime or mystery in Ferryport Landing, but instead its about winning Mr. Canis's freedom back. In this book the two main characters, Sabrina and Daphne are trying to help with the trial of the century although Sabrina doesn't know if that is a spectacular idea. she is nervous because the Big Bad Wolf is trapped inside of Mr. Canis, and is taking control. Outside of the courthouse, the family meets up with a couple of people from the famous tale, "Little Red Riding Hood." They run into the woodcutter from the story which is known as Howard Hatchet. Meanwhile, the girls' uncle, Jake is tracking down their father's once true love, Goldilocks. She my be the only key to breaking the sleeping spell. Though its harder then they expected because Goldilocks is traveling the globe. When they find her she doesn't want to come back and be trapped in the town forever. Will Goldilocks come back to break the curse, or will Sabrina and Daphne's parents never awaken? Also, will the Grimms be able to free Mr. Canis and the evil spirit that lies beneath him? Find out in, The Sisters Grimm book six; Tales From the Hood. I think that I would recommend this book to fifth and sixth graders that like fairy-tales, mysteries, romance, and comedy put into one. I say this because this whole series is about all those different genres plus more, and in order for the reader to like this is to love the first three books. That's who I would recommend this book to, and why I would recommend this book to that audience."

" The Big Bad Wolf/Mr. Canis is on trial. The Grimms must find a way to prove his innocence! Of course Little Red Riding Hood is involved. New characters are added in this sixth volume in the series. Always fun, crazy and fast paced! With each book another piece of to puzzle is put in place! Now on to book seven! "

" I thought this novel had really strong parts, but lacked on emphasizing parts that were really important. Some parts were dull, and others were just really great. I thought Daphne was really trying to grow up, and I loved how she found herself in the end. I think Sabrina has some more growing to do, and a lot more thinking to do. When Daphne and Sabrina were torn apart a bit in the end, it was heart breaking. I like the steady growing relationship between Puck and Sabrina. It's cute, and mature and immature in its own unique way. I hope the following novel will be great. "
