"Michael Buckley has to be one of the most creative authors I've ever read. This book was a whirlwind! Took me forever to read it, because I kept reading library books first because they were due soon. Great book~can't wait to read the final installment."
— Dina (4 out of 5 stars)
“Quirky and reasonable characters, engaging writing, fresh fairy tale references, and a very real fantasy setting.”
— Raleigh News and Observer" I really loved this series. I think I read all 8 books in 2 weeks. "
— Ginger, 2/20/2014" As always with the series, a very fun book, I got to learn more about fairy tales which is always fun. "
— Tricia, 2/10/2014" Sabrina & Daphne are really coming into their own. I can't wait to see how this series finishes up. "
— Brett, 2/2/2014" This book (#8 of the series) had its usual charm and the unusual characters. We meet the Headless Horseman, Jack the Giant Killer, the White Rabbit and many more. Plus the old stand-by characters of Puck the Trickster King, Mirror (the magic one of Snow White), and Pinocchio. I am charmed by the humor, the twists, the creative plot and especially the characters. But what I truly enjoyed was the development of Puck and Sabrina's relationship. They would still call horrid names at each other and make all kinds of threats but when each one would need help the other was there. A knew kind of friendship was developing and I liked that new emotion. "
— CarolAnn, 1/28/2014" I really liked this series! I was bummed after I finished this because I thought this was the last one in the series, however there is one more scheduled to come out sometime this fall. Now I'm just playing the waiting game. "
— Tana, 1/24/2014" this book series is so cute, and charming, but I can't wait for the last one! "
— Kimi, 1/7/2014" Cute little twist. "
— Justina, 1/4/2014" Eh. It wasn't as great as the others. "
— Adriana, 1/4/2014" I thought this book was ok. It was interesting and fun but if I had really felt like it, I colud have skipped throught most of it and known what had happened. "
— Miss, 1/3/2014" The master of the red hand kidnaps a special boy and the sisters go to rescue him in a magic book. This series continues to be an interesting read but this book ends on a cliff hanger so there is more to come. "
— MiriLou, 12/20/2013" One more to go! I loved this one! "
— Heather, 12/8/2013" I don't know. It just didn't feel as well-crafted as the others in the series. I didn't like the jumping from story to story thing; the plotline felt very disjointed and choppy and difficult to follow. "
— June, 7/30/2013" I liked the concept of traveling through a book of fairy tales. I'm just wondering when this series is going to come to a close and how many books there are going to be. "
— Erica, 9/1/2012" Good fun! Starts dealing with the issue of not always being able to tell what is right and what is wrong, looking at different perspectives, etc. "
— Charlotte, 8/1/2012" Great!I cant wait for the last! i cant believe its the last! "
— Shea, 2/10/2012" I think this series has gone at least two books too long. "
— Raelynn, 1/1/2012" This was pretty good, but I think the series needs to end already. "
— Susie, 9/28/2011" I think he's trying too hard to stretch the series when it could have been tied up and finished a few books ago. I wish he would have developed the main character a little more and actually shown growth...it seems that she hasn't learned/changed too much from the first one. "
— Lindsay, 9/13/2011" It was amazing now I am just waiting for the 9th one to come out. "
— Emma, 7/11/2011" I love this series. Its a total twist on every nursery rhyme/ kids story you've ever been told. Plus Puck just makes me giggle. "
— Lburt, 6/10/2011" Enjoyed this book. Now awaiting the publication of the 9th and final book of series to see how things end. "
— Scott, 5/14/2011" I really liked this series! I was bummed after I finished this because I thought this was the last one in the series, however there is one more scheduled to come out sometime this fall. Now I'm just playing the waiting game. "
— Tana, 5/10/2011" Who lets the bad guy win? "
— Etimmerman, 4/8/2011" I like it but I feel he could have added more and finish the series already insstead of writing a 9th book. "
— Maya, 4/4/2011" It was amazing now I am just waiting for the 9th one to come out. "
— Emma, 3/14/2011" I liked this one but felt again, that it was like more of a filler--albeit a good filler. Very funny with Granny Relda---"Let's see what havoc we can wreak". Can't wait for next one! Winter '11. "
— Erin, 2/21/2011" I really like this series. Puck is my favorite character. A very good audio book This would be a great series for my niece Ellie who is 8. "
