New York Times best-selling author of the Sisters Grimm stories, Michael Buckley created a hilarious new storyline with the first book in his NERDS series. In this side-splitting follow-up, Goonies meets James Bond-style hijinks continue with a group of unpopular fifth-graders who run a spy network right under their teachers' noses. Their tech-loving, geeky ways may get them shunned by the "it" crowd, but with a little help from science, these kids' most dweeby qualities become big-time weapons in the fight against super-villains.

"I think it is an aswome book to read it has a lot of action and adventure. It is a good book to read it keeps you reading and there is no stop to the surprizes to it. I'd like to give you some info of the book but you wouldn't understand it until you read it. "
— Austin (5 out of 5 stars)
" I liked this book because it was funny and focused on a character I didn't know much about(Duncan Dewey) "
— Kathryn, 2/17/2014" This book wasnt as good as the first one but it was ok. When Duncan loses his powers he has to learn to fight evil wothout gadgets. His nieghnors turn evil and are trying to take over the world. Also Heathcliff is back. "
— Nick, 2/15/2014" i think nerds is very good so far , i hope to read the hole series i think there is about 5 in the hole series.so far i am on page 42.the author is Michael Buckley. "
— Ty, 2/15/2014" Not as funny as the first. But still good. I am interested to find out what this author witll come up with next in this series. "
— Ragan, 2/11/2014" I really like this book! It's been a long time since I've read NERDS, and these books don't really start out from where they left off. I consider each book a whole new book. The characters I know so far are Duncan and Flinch. Flinch has a problem whenever he eats sugar, which makes him hyper. Flinch also has superhuman abilities. Duncan's nickname is glue stick because he can stick to any surface. I would recommend this book to readers who like humor. "
— Will, 2/11/2014" I actually liked this second in the series better than the first! "
— Angela, 2/5/2014" Good action packed adventure. Michael Buckley has that formula down pat. Fun story good ending. "
— Lorelie, 1/21/2014" It was the most funny book I've read! But four stars because it wasn't filled with lots of action, which I didn't expect. "
— Mohammad, 1/19/2014" Lots of laughs. The first was funnier, but I enjoyed revisiting the characters from a different NERD. I do hope more come out from POVs of even more of the young spies. "
— Stefani, 1/6/2014" Still not a fan of the series, but I have to say I liked this one the most. I liked how it delved into the family life of one of the NERDS members and how they could work through 'life' issues. And I still like that this is a decent series to read and discuss with my 9 year old boy. "
— Kellylynn, 12/24/2013" A book that truly shows the meaning of bravery and the man-up speech. "
— Lydia, 12/17/2013" Really funny and had an interesting plot. "
— Cody, 12/13/2013" Not as good as the first one. "
— Kathrine, 11/23/2013" I enjoyed it. Should be a good addition to my classroom library. I'm looking forward to the next two in the series, but will probably wait until the paperback versions to buy them. "
— Craig, 11/22/2013" 3 words: I Love It "
— Chloe, 8/27/2013" Another one? How many of these ARE there? Ugh. I guess it was relatively okay, but Michael Buckley is NOT my favorite author. There was a lot of crying... "He cried" or "She cried". Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. I DO NOT recommend. "
— Brianna, 6/12/2013" This is a funny book about 5 Nerd spys. I think the dialog between chapters is fun and different. It kind of reminds me of A Series of Unfortunate Events but better. I recommend this to anyone looking for a fun light read with a moral point. "
— Amanda, 5/22/2013" Used this for a mini book report. Learned some new words after looking them up in a dictionary. My Mom had to explain why the subtitle is "M is for Mama's Boy" I am only 9 so still not sure I get it. "
— Tristan, 5/4/2013" These books are a little too juvenile for me. I can see a younger audience really enjoying these. "
— Darin, 2/8/2013" I didn't like this book that much as the 1st one but i figured to still continue with the series. This book kind of boring because there isn't alot of action going on. "
— Ziyan, 12/6/2012" pretty good but i kinda wish jackson was the main character "
— Mary, 12/3/2012" This one was actually funnier than the first. I really like Duncan as the narrator. I hope there is a third book. "
— Cara, 8/20/2012" This was a fun second. "
— Angie, 10/31/2011" This was one of the best books I have ever read!!! I am so excited to read the 3rd book called "The Cheerlearers of Doom." If there was more than 5 stars I would rate it even higher!! "
— Ian, 10/12/2011" it the best boom ever <3 it "
— Khia, 4/30/2011" This book is right up my son's alley! He has read it at least twice, and we read it aloud at bedtime with all the kids. It is a fun, creative, humorous and positive tale. "
— Heather, 4/8/2011" Good solid humorous series that will appeal to boys and girls. Five "nerdy" students with special abilities are spies with their headquarters set in their school. Gr. 5-7. "
— Shawn, 4/4/2011" LOL, this book was so funny and AMUSING though I preferred the transmissions from the first book but I loved the code breaking stuff and I wish the Hyena was in it more. I didn't expect who the bad guy was and what his mom did, you better read it to find out! "
— Allison, 3/26/2011" Not as funny as the first. But still good. I am interested to find out what this author witll come up with next in this series. "
— Ragan, 2/14/2011" THis was a lot of fun for my boys especially Owen, He loved this book, it was silly and fun for young boys. "
— Jennifer, 2/1/2011" I liked this one, but i think i liked the first one better because it had Jackson "Braceface" as the protaginist. "
— Alyssa, 1/28/2011" The plot is absolutely ridiculous, but the story definitely succeeds. I liked this one a lot more than the previous book, and the narrator of the audiobook did a highly entertaining job with the characters' voices. "
— Heather, 1/27/2011" I loved this book its a lot like a friend i know. "
— Trey, 1/20/2011" A new look into the life of a bunch of kids with totally awesome powers. "
