"This novel is a refreshing change that successfully alters the general plot conventions used in similar historical novels. I really got sucked into the story even though I initially disliked the hero or more like the anti hero. Everyone is damaged in this novel except for Lydia. Her innocence is a little hard to swallow especially with the hardship she and her sister is subjected to."

" I loved this book!! It had a captivating story line and I couldnt wait to see what happened next! I look forward to reading the next 2 books in The House Of Rohan series! "
— Jesse-Michelle, 2/11/2014" I hated the hero! :( "
— Elaine, 1/28/2014" Not a bad book. I was a Barbara Cartland fan when I was younger, and this is along the same lines, although slightly more racy. "
— Kelly, 11/17/2013" A very good one. Stuart writes scandalous rakes/hopeless spinsters love stories like noone else! That made for quite interesting and steamy exchanges in that book, loved the dynamics between the main characters. "
— Beowulfwulf, 11/2/2013" a little slow to start but by the time i got to the middle i didnt want to put it down! "
— Shalon, 9/18/2013" I don't know if I will read the rest of the series. We will have to see. Liked the heroine who was selfless to the point of her own demise. Cried a couple of times. Pretty emotional but the chemistry just didn't fully click for me. No sex until after page 300 doesn't work for me either! "
— Kay, 8/2/2013" This is the novel that roused my fondness for historical romance. The number of times I've reread Ruthless is immeasurable. Just one of those timeless novels that demands constant retreadings. "
— Laura, 5/31/2013" No fue totalmente de mi gusto, aunque la protagonista tenia caracter cayo de la manera mas rara en los brazos del galan y el pues la verdad no me encanto, en fin que para pasar el rato pasa pero nada mas. "
— Vmontgzz, 5/3/2013" The worst Anne Stuart so far. And the plot is just rewritten "To love a dark lord" if I'm not mistaken (he kills her rapist, she's almost pushed from the cliffs.) But here everything is so utterly ridiculous, starting with the hero's life style, clothing and his houseparty orgies. "
— Sanya, 10/29/2011" Loved it! It is packed with drama, action and feelings! "
— Irene, 8/25/2011" Just what I expected, a naughty boy an innocent girl and hot, hot, did I say hot? sex, oh! and I almost forgot, an entertaining plot. "
— Lupdilup, 6/12/2011" OK I'm trying hard to get through this. Picked it up again. Somehow I couldn't care less about these characters. What is the big deal about Anne Stuart? So far I'm not getting it.

The contiuing ennui of the hero is just TIRESOME. "
— Susinok, 6/11/2011" The second book in the sequel to Anne Stuart book. After reading the first book I could not wait till I read the second, was not disappointed. Anne Stuart books keeps you entertained from the first page till the last!! "
— Catrulz, 5/30/2011" mmm soo bad in all the right places! i love the characters - i found myself a little bit in charlotte and really wanted to give into rohan. oh, and the vicar and lina were awesome! i would love a book about those two! "
— Catherine, 5/16/2011" Hoo boy, that was HOT. ;-) "
— Stacey, 5/11/2011" Love Love Loved this book ----sooooo much better than the first in the series "
— Jenny, 4/13/2011" Read this in one go last night.
I love Anne Stuart's characters with their imperfectness. Always have, probably always will.
So good! "
