"I loved this book! I have noticed though that there are several repetitions of scenes or comments though throughout the series. For example, the subtle flinch that if the character hadnt been watching their lover closely they wouldn't have seen it. It is annoying to read this in excess. This is my only complaint. I read this book almost straight through so I could find out more about Mickey."

“Historical romance at its best…Series fans will be enthralled, while new readers will find this emotionally charged installment stands very well alone.”
— Publishers Weekly“Ashford MacNab’s crisp narration captures the story’s brisk pace and roguish pirate atmosphere, as well as the looming presence of the characters’ mysterious enemy. Silence’s pride and defiance of Mickey are revealed with a soft-spoken but confident voice. Her demeanor is contrasted with Mickey’s rough personality, conveyed by a loud, gruff voice that begins to moderate as Mickey falls for her. The complexities of the main characters are highlighted by MacNab’s compassionate interpretation of Mickey. An evocative performance.”
— AudioFile“With its lush sensuality, lusciously wrought prose, and luxuriously dark plot, Scandalous Desires, the latest exquisitely crafted addition to Hoyt’s Georgian-set Maiden Lane series, is a romance to treasure.”
— Booklist (starred review)“This is the Maiden Lane story readers have been waiting for. Hoyt delivers her hallmark fairy tale within a romance and takes readers into the depths of the heart and soul of her characters. Pure magic flows from her pen, lifting readers’ spirits with joy.”
— RT Book Reviews“If I could give higher than 5 stars I would, as Scandalous Pleasures is sublime!”

— -Julianne MacLean, author of PORTRAIT OF A LOVERHoyt is firmly in control of her craft with engaging characters, gripping plot and clever dialogue.
— -Publishers Weekly" I've been looking forward to this book in the series and it did not dissapoint. This is the story of Silence and the man who "ruined" her, Charming Mickey O'Connor. He is hard and scarred by his past bad boy, she is strong and tried to stand up to him. Together they make a perfect romance story. "
— Sonia, 7/29/2013" I LOVED IT probably one of the best books I have read this year.Scandalous Desires was everything I hoped it would be and much more. Recommended! "
— Milena's, 7/10/2013" A very weak 4* but definitely rates more than 3*. I'm impressed by how the author got me to actually like/sympathize with Mickey, who was very much a rat in the previous book. "
— BJ, 7/6/2013" I thought it was very interesting that Mickey O'Connor, who could be hated because of his actions towards Silence in the first book, Wicked Intentions, was now the romantic hero and he and Silence fall in love -- but Ms. Hoyt did it very well, and it was believable. "
— Michele, 5/19/2013" I love this Pirate!Really good book. "
— Caroline, 3/3/2013" I loved this book. As a romance novel it looked more at the emotional aspect rather than the physical, I thoroughly enjoyed it and was glad it was full of so much suspense "
— Ren, 1/10/2013" This whole series so far has been outstanding! Elizabeth Hoyt is just a genius author, what can I say? I have loved every single book by her thus far. "
— Krishawna, 10/17/2012" I loved Mick. He was complex, driven, and dark. His back story didn't fail and he left us on our toes questioning if he could be reformed. I was looking forward to this book and it didn't disappoint. Now, I'm excited about Winter's story. "
— Melissa, 9/19/2012" LOOOOOVED this book. It was sooooo good. "
