Listener Opinions

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Hypatia | 2/16/2014

" Not as good as the first, but I still enjoyed it. I'm hoping the third one has more explanations! "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Jen | 2/12/2014

" I loved this book! Amazing! I'm loving watching Garion grow up but I have to say that I feel bad for him. People starting to look at him different because they can tell that he is powerful and not an ordinary boy. I like watching Ce'Nedra and Garion trying to figure out what to do with each other. I love all the main characters and I have to say that I feel like I'm on the journey with them. Amazingly written! "

" These books are fantastic reading, I recommend them to anyone who enjoys fantasy and/or just a good read. These five books start the saga that will undoubtedly stick in your mind as one of the most in depth and stimulating fantasy sagas written to this day. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Shelly | 3/12/2013

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Jay | 12/18/2011

" More of the same from Eddings. Pulpy and easy to read. Strangely unsophisticated. I am reluctant to admit he's a great storyteller, something about the too-simplistic nature of the series bothered me. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Miller | 3/12/2011

" This book was kind of hard to get through the first half. However, it did end up picking up its pace and becoming a more entertaining read after the first half or 2/3rds. It will probably be a while before i start the third book of this series though. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Tonileg | 1/26/2011

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Henry | 9/16/2010

" Just couldn't get into it as much as I tried. There are some nice stretches and Eddings certainly devotes a lot of time/energy to creating his world, but I found it tediously redundant as the characters traveled from one waypoint to another.... "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Jennie | 8/27/2010

" This series is an example of classic fantasy brought to the highest with Edding's gift of weaving a real world and its people into life. "

" Starts out a little slow, but then becomes amazing. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Matt | 7/19/2010

" Still a fun, quick read. Not the best fantasy ever, true, but it's not overly dense or full of itself either. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Adam | 7/17/2010

" Not on the same lines as Feist or Brooks, but a very enjoyable read nonetheless. Classic epic fantasy. "
