"In both five book series, the characters are supposedly chasing after something very important. A thief who stole the Orb, and thief who stole Garran. In both cases, it takes the good guys 2 years--four books--to catch them. In a chase, especially when the world hangs in balance, I'd expect everyone to move faster. Instead, their adventures seem almost meandering, depsite how much they SAY they're trying to hurry. There are all these stops at palaces and castles and going around or through or under mountain ranges and trying to avoid capture and war and sailing over vast oceans. After awhile, it gets frustrating. I understand Zandramas had to pull Belgarion into a conflict somehow, and get him to chase after her to the Place Which Is No More, but she could have done something else. DE could have arranged the story so it didn't take so VERY long in this chase. I understand the old sorcerors who have been around several millenia may not feel rushed, but I felt that the driving plot of these books didn't fit. The chosen plot should have been more urgent, and people's all around reactions are pretty much "oh, travel, it takes a few years to get places". They don't seem overly worried. They seem to act like the prophecy will get them into place in time. Having Ce'nedra break into hysterics every now and then doesn't fix the FEEL of the books, which is slow-paced travel rather than break-neck chase.World-shattering consequences, plodding speed. Loads of interesting things happening, but not usually to further the main plot, and not to endanger the main characters (not for more than a chapter or two, anyway)."

In this second book of the Malloreon series we are introduced to the cultures on the other side of the world. Added to that mix is the concept of demons in the world. Mix that all up with an imposed quested through the world to find the unknown and you are almost back to original book in the first series. "

" This is the second book in the Mallorean, I really love this series. They continue there journey, and they go to Nyissa. After that they go to Cthol Murgos. Prince Kheldar meets his long lost brother and they are captured. "
