"Once again, Jen Lancaster does not disappoint! I constantly found myself laughing so hard I was snorting as I read her latest. She is truly a God! Love her - can soooo relate to her and she is NOT afraid to say all the things you know your thinking!!!! Bravo, Jen!!!!"
— Vicki (5 out of 5 stars)
" Just picked up my reserved copy from the library, will start this weekend! "
— Lacey, 2/17/2014" Well, she warns you the author is egomanical and self-centered, though there were no wonder years before that. She's always self-centered. In the stories about her childhood, the first few chapters, it was funny. After the first few chapters, it got old. Don't be fooled by the title, the book is barely about clothing. In fact, aside from shallow, brand name dropping shopping expeditions, Lancaster didn't include too much about her fashion, just insisting that she was fashionable. Her clothing memories seems to serve as chapter names, nothing else. "
— Elise, 2/16/2014" Funny and a quick page-turner... Great summer reading fluff. "
— Maggie, 2/15/2014" Cute & funny - I really enjoyed and felt like I related to much of it. "
— Anita, 2/10/2014" She is hilarious! Love her books. "
— Dierdre, 1/28/2014" I just LOVE Jen Lancaster. I think she is hilarious, snarky, and the second I finish one of her books, I am ready for another. Bitter is the New Black is still my favorite, but I loved Pretty in Plaid too! "
— Courtney, 1/26/2014" This book is completely annoying. I don't know why I listened to the whole thing. "
— Mindy, 1/11/2014" Love the way this one is told through the stories that match each outfit. "
— Mary, 1/3/2014" I can't help liking Jen's memoirs. Although we are probably poles apart from each other in many many ways, I can relate to her smart-alecky, irony laden humor. I'd like to hear a memoir of her and Fletch about how they got hooked up - with his side in there too! "
— Tina, 12/31/2013" I LOVE Jen Lancaster! She is my favorite author, however, Pretty in Plaid was disappointing. It isn't laugh-out-loud-in-public funny like her previous offerings. It is worth a read, but don't expect Bitter Is the New Black. "
— Adrienne, 12/6/2013" For what she does, and that is write funny books about her life, she does it very very well. "
— Susan, 11/28/2013" Love Jen! And I say that like we're friends because that's how you feel after reading her books. Such a Pretty Fat is still my favorite but this one did in fact make me chuckle out loud. Simply ADORE the footnotes. I find myself reading other books and thinking, "Damn this needs a footnote" :) "
— Susan, 11/23/2013" Very funny...brought back a lot of memories. I was laughing out loud. "
— Courtney, 11/4/2013" Probably 3 1/2 more so than 4 stars. The book was funny and I like Jen Lancaster as an author but not so much as a person. I don't think we would like each other if we met in person. :) "
— Krystal, 8/26/2013" Loved it. Could have done without the soul searching epilogue, but otherwise highly entertaining. "
— Hendo, 7/20/2013" Sometimes a little overdone, but I'd still read anything Lancaster puts out. "
— Patty, 6/26/2013" If you love clothes and lived through the Izod-wearing, wooden pocketbook carrying days of the late-70's and early-80's, then this book is for you. If not, then you just might not relate to this one. Cute and great concept though! "
— Kimzee, 5/25/2013" Laughed so hard throughout the entire book. Not a book you should read if you want to avoid caustic language. "
— Garityann, 3/6/2013" Of all the Jen Lancaster memoirs, this has been my favorite. Really enjoyed re-living all the pop-culture from the 70's on. "
— Cindy, 11/23/2012" I thought this was one of her better memoirs. It describes her past and how she got to be the way she is/was. Humanizing and funny. "
— Barbara, 4/11/2012" I listened to this book and found it easier than reading it (with all of the footnotes). Very funny... typical Jen Lancaster. "
— Tonie, 9/29/2011" It's Jen Lancaster... You can never go wrong with her! "
— Jessi, 7/28/2011" Very good; I always enkoy Jen Lancaster's books and this is possibly my favorite. "
— Steph, 5/20/2011" I just think she's funny. What can I say? It's another guilty pleasure. "
— Jenn, 5/8/2011" Memoir tied to favorite outfits and trend as author was growing up. Very funny and readable. Fills in background of first book. "
— Mom, 5/4/2011" Jen Lancaster never fails to crack me up! "
— Pam, 4/26/2011" Another great, funny book by Jen Lancaster! I love that all the goofy stuff I was embarrassed about when I was young was experienced ten-fold by Jen. Through her quirkiness, I am reminded that life is funny and fantastic. "
— Val, 4/22/2011" Great memoir, again. In my opinion NOT as fun as "Such a Pretty Fat" but just as entertaining. This is realizty (TV... uh, book?!) at its best! "
— Liliana, 4/18/2011" Fun easy read for a weekend. She's just so good at poking fun at herself! "
— Jennifer, 4/16/2011" She is so funny! I thought it was really good. "
— Sandy, 4/7/2011" The book was hysterical. I think because I was listening on CD it made it THAT much funnier, but nonetheless a GREAT read.

I want to be friends with Jen Lancaster. She's incredibly funny and fearless. "
— Kiki, 3/27/2011" Laugh-out-loud funny. Need to read her other books! "
— Julie, 3/24/2011" Fun read. Probably a good beach book "
— Elaine, 3/20/2011" I've read Jen Lancaster's blog for over a year. I figured it was time to try one of her books. This book was FUN. I loved the narrator. It was nice to have a fun fluffy book for once. On to another! "
— Pam, 3/19/2011" I love Jen Lancaster! Such funny observations ~ what you think and never say! "
— Alexa, 3/17/2011" Definitely laughed out loud at parts, but liked the others better. "
