The second novel from the New York Times bestselling author of If You Were Here takes us back to the hair metal 80's. Twenty years after ruling the halls of her suburban Chicago high school, Lissy Ryder doesn’t understand why her glory days ended. Back then, she was worshipped...beloved...feared. Present day, not so much. She’s been pink-slipped from her high-paying job, dumped by her husband and kicked out of her condo. Now, at thirty-seven, she’s struggling to start a business out of her parents’ garage and sleeping under the hair-band posters in her old bedroom. Lissy finally realizes karma is the only bitch bigger than she was. Her present is miserable because of her past. But it’s not like she can go back in time and change who she was...or can she?

"I decided to give Jen Lancaster a second chance after reading multiple positive reviews on this title. I'm not a fan of her humor essay writing. I read that genre ad nauseum so it wasn't as if I had no one to compare her to... Fiction writing suits J. Lancaster much better. Wasn't thrilled to encounter a time travel element shortly after getting sucked into the first couple chapters because I typically can't stand anything with a fantastical element (though I did very much like Time Traveler's Wife, but I digress). Read a like a margarita... tasted delicious, provided a short period of escape, left you wanting more :)"
— Kris (4 out of 5 stars)
“Turns out Jen Lancaster, who was already a master of memoir, is a genius at fiction.”
— Beth Harbison, New York Times bestselling author of Shoe Addicts Anonymous“Witty dialogue and ’90s references abound as Lancaster takes readers back to high school. It’s a nostalgic delight!”
— RT Book Reviews (4½ stars, Top Pick!)“Lancaster’s as adept at fiction as she is at telling her own stories—no matter what she’s writing, it’s scathingly witty and lots of fun. ”
— Publishers Weekly“Readers will find it easy to root for the frank and funny heroine of this winsome, whimsical tale. Lancaster’s downright fun novel is chick lit at its best.
— Booklist“Quantum physics was never funnier. A great read.”
— Kirkus Reviews" Don't read this assuming you are in for an intellectual masterpiece; instead, read it for the fluffy mindless goodness that it is. It has everything I enjoy - humor, time travel, and the 90's. It also has things I hate, such as cardboard cutout characters, cliches, characters you love to hate, and even some abhorrently bad writing, but it is what it intended to be - light, fun read. I enjoyed it. "
— Courtney, 2/20/2014" I loved this book! funny, inspiring and brilliant. "
— Tiffany, 2/20/2014" i would not recommend this book unless you are a big fan of disney movies gone bad for tweens. It is a predictable story which a woman that goes through a time warp in the hopes of changing her life outcome in the present/future....ever heard of this story before? or something similar to it? PASS...............not a good read! "
— Gail, 1/21/2014" Fun and frivilous. Complete escape. Not as predictable as thought it would be. "
— Keena, 1/11/2014" As light and frothy as an eighties bubblegum pop song and just as fun. Would I want to go back to high school? "
— Janet, 1/10/2014" I loved this book. I love most of Jen Lancaster's books. I didn't like her first novel as much as her memoirs and was afraid that this would disappoint as well. I couldn't have been more wrong. "Here I Go Again" is entertaining, funny, and a real page turner. "
— Christine, 1/5/2014" This was an unexpected novel from Jen Lancaster and it feels like it involves a bit of a break from her real life personality, which tends to infiltrate her fiction. I really enjoyed it and found myself fascinated with the time travel principles without rolling my eyes. Which rarely happens with me and time travel. "
— Lauren, 1/4/2014" I enjoyed this book even if the main character's thought processes at times remained a mystery, even after she was 'good'. "
— chrisa, 12/7/2013" This was funny but not Lancaster's best "
— Sara, 12/6/2013" Lord knows I love Jen Lancaster and would totally stalk her in Whole Foods if I happened to also live in the Chicago suburbs. Here I go again was a good, entertaining, light read - just not one of my favorites of hers. Her memoirs hit a more personal note for me ... "
— Shana, 12/3/2013" A fun fast read. A sweet story that has good moral to the story. "
— Lorraine, 12/2/2013" Loved every second of it! And it takes place in Chicago and makes suburbian references which I loved! "
— Kara, 11/25/2013" Jen Lancaster is one of my favorite authors, but I must say I prefer her memoirs to her fiction. "
— Amanda, 11/15/2013" Much closer to a 2.5 but I love Jen Lancaster so I gave it a 3. I wanted to punch the main character a lot and didn't empathize with her at all. "
— Lyndsay, 11/13/2013" All hail the queen of snark! Great story, love Jen's memoirs but so happy that she's started writing fiction. Can't wait for the next book. Love the premise - understanding that sometimes the best in life is seeing other people's happiness when you know they deserved it. "
— Connie, 10/14/2013" I thought this book was fun and entertaining to read. It moved along at a good pace without getting stale. I would recommend it to others "
— Tracy, 9/23/2013" very quick read which i enjoyed tremendously..it reminded me of one of my favorite movies...13 going on 30!! "
— Jennifer, 9/17/2013" Her memoirs are better than her fiction. "
— Dana, 9/2/2013" Fun, cute chick lit. Bubblegum for the brain. Exactly what the doctor ordered. "
— Millyha, 8/25/2013" On page 33 and not sure I can stomach another page. I am either totally done with high school ( okay yes done with high school) or it is not a good time for me to read this book. Calling it quits. I'm sure it is a good book, but I will take your word for it and move on to something else... "
— Heather, 7/31/2013" Lived, loved, loved it! Thank you Jen for reminding me again why you are my favorite author! "
— Emily, 6/4/2013" Laugh outloud funny! Jen Lancaster rocks! "
— Danielle, 5/24/2013" Fun, light and quick read. Perfect summer beach book. "
— Alicia, 4/28/2013" If you're looking for an easy read without much depth, this is a great book for that. I prefer Jenn Lancaster's memoirs much more then her forays into novels, but this one was much better then her first ("If You Were Here.") "
— Amanda, 3/4/2013" Okay, I finished. I have to say that I liked the book but I never really warmed up to Lissy. I liked the fact that she grew from the mean girl she was in high school, but still not my favorite character ever. "
