"I would have probably rated this a 3.5 book if I had been able. This is a fun series with a strong female character. This book finishes Kel's training as a Page, and she waits to find out if she is able to continue her training as a Squire. Not quite Ranger's Apprentice, but a great youth series."

— Simone, 1/30/2014" Not too sure why I love these books so much...it's not better than the Alanna series, nor is it worse in any sense. it's just different. Can't wait to make all my younger cousins read this -the girls will definitely love it! "
— Zainab, 1/8/2014" meh, not as good as the lioness quintet set "

— Stephanie, 6/30/2011" Still interesting and a good book, I do enjoy this series. I kind of want to take a break from it, but would rather just finish it (there's only a few books left) so I don't have to come back and review things I forgot later on. "

— Sarah, 3/24/2011" I love how Tamora Pierce. I love seeing the thought process of Keladry and how she solves her problems. It is hard to think though that in this book she is only 11-14, some of the things that happen seem outrageous for someone so young. "
— Becky, 2/13/2011" I have really enjoyed this storyline between book 1 and book 2. A young girl trying to make it in a man's world and surprise surprise she comes out ahead of the all but not without putting up a fight, literally. Going to search in hopes for a book 3. :) "
— Amy, 1/2/2011" Not bad, but I liked the first one so much better. "
— Nichole, 12/4/2010" See! Girls can do anything!

A fabulous entertaining work! "
