More than twenty New York Times bestselling authors team up to create a first-rate serial novel, a collaboration that combines the skills of America’s greatest storytellers to produce a gripping, spellbinding mystery.

Alexander McCall Smith, Sandra Brown, Faye Kellerman, J. A. Jance, Jeffery Deaver, Kathy Reichs, Lisa Scottoline, and Jeff Lindsay are a handful of the names that make up the all-star lineup of authors behind No Rest for the Dead, a tale of vengeance, greed, and love that flows seamlessly, in the words of David Baldacci, “as it passes from one creator’s mind to the next.”

When Christopher Thomas, a ruthless curator at San Francisco’s McFall Art Museum, is murdered and his decaying body is found in an iron maiden in a Berlin museum, his wife, Rosemary, is the primary suspect. She is tried, convicted, and executed. Ten years later, Jon Nunn, the detective who cracked the case, is convinced the wrong person was put to death. In the years since the case was closed, he’s discovered a web of deceit and betrayal surrounding the Thomases that could implicate any number of people in the crime. Solving this case may be Nunn’s last chance for redemption, but the shadowy forces behind Christopher’s death will stop at nothing to silence the past forever.

In this innovative storytelling approach, each of these twenty-six bestselling writers brings their distinctive voice to a chapter of the narrative, building the tension to a shocking, explosive finale. No Rest for the Dead is a thrilling accomplishment that only America’s very best authors could achieve.

" I thought it was good. Somewhat predictable but good. "

" "No Rest For The Dead" is riveting in the sense that I was (am) reading it at the time of Troy Davis' execution and when the questions about his guilt or innocence were being debated. The novel is about a wealthy woman accused and sentenced to die for the murder of her jerk of a husband. Halfway through the book and it's shaping up really well. The only problem is the premise that a person in death row would be executed in a matter of a couple of years after the sentencing. Not a lawyer but I think the process requires judicial patience and exhaustion of all legal avenues. Very creative approach to a novel though with 20+ authors corroborating on one storyline. Whether it pans out to be a good book will depend on the ending, of course, and I am not there yet ... But so far so good ... "

" A very entertaining read! Former police detective John Nunn can't let a case drop in which he believes that an innocent woman was sentenced to death for a murder she didn't commit. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 by Amy | 1/27/2014

" Obviously, there was a lot of brain power that went into this book - and with that there was creativity and drama. However, perhaps for that reason I felt that I didn't get as in depth with the characters and really connect with them, as I would have hoped. Also, I was disappointed with the ending and the "cowboy" attitude, which was a little hard to swallow. Wouldn't NOT recommend, but not high on my list. "
