Three teens who have attempted suicide meet in a psychiatric hospital, battle their demons, and begin to heal.
The handsome son of wealthy parents, Connor has everything anyone could want—except his family’s love and affection. Jailed for years after killing his mother’s child-molesting boyfriend, Tony is confused about his sexuality. Manic-depressive Vanessa cuts herself. All three stories intertwine in a brutally honest story about pain and resilience.

"This book did a great job of showing how teens feel everyday, even if they don't get bullied. Take for example, Conner. Outwardly, his life is absolutely perfect. He has the "perfect" family, the "perfect" house, and the "perfect" school life. But his life is far from perfect, and he the cracks finally show when he tries to commit sucked with a bullet to the heart. Next is Vanessa. Smart, pret, and funny, you'd think there was nothing wrong. Pull up her sleeves and you'll see the truth. She cuts to let out all th Spain, frustration, and guilt she feels. Finally is Tony, who is supposedly gay, and tried to commit suicide by pills I believe. The ending almost had me in tears, especially when I read the part where Conner's mother and everything else finally pushed him so far over he edge that he jumped off the cliff. I can't wait to start Perfect, to see what happens next."

" This is my second favorite book written by Ellen Hopkins, (the first being Identical, Being able to relate to the main female character, I love the way Ellen shows the reader what it's like to be in an institute, and that not everyone gets better. I love her writing and this is just another book to add to my top 10. "
— Lydia, 2/13/2014" Very good, quick read, kind of dark. "
— Grace, 1/30/2014" I think this is Hopkins' best so far. Poor Conner. "
— Kirsten, 1/25/2014" I couldn't finish this one. Actually, I only got about 100 pages in before I had to stop. The characters' voices were all the same--or at least too similar to distinguish at all. This was my first attempt at Ellen Hopkins, and I wasn't very impressed even though I loved the idea of novels in verse. Maybe I can go back to it someday, but not right now. It didn't pull my interest enough in the first 100 pages. "
