"At first glance, i didn't know what to expect from this book. I've seen many people reading this book, including my cousin. I remembered that she struggled with a drug problem, however I was too young to understand what drug this was referring to. So now, I decided to read it. After reading and enjoying every other book by Ellen Hopkins, I thought this one ought to be good as well. And I was right. This book is amazing! It gives you a whole new perspective on addiction and what it's like to be overwhelmed by the life style of drugs. After reading this book, I have compassion for those I know who have had this addiction and who are still struggling with it. Ellen Hopkins portrays this idea in such a deep way. It really helps us to connect with the character, and puts us on the edge of our seats ready to read the sequel...(which I am reading) I highly recommend this series, in fact any Ellen Hopkins book, is really worth the read. Her style of writing makes the stories all the more interesting. She's very poetic, yet very deep. Making it impossible to put the book down!"

— Micah, 2/6/2014" I thought this was a really good read. A lot of it was depressing and fairly graphic/disturbing, but I loved that it was written as poetry and it was intriguing to me because it was based on a true story. It was kind of like watching a train wreck, but I just couldn't put the book down. "

— Abigail, 10/1/2013" I think that Ellen Hopkins is one of the best authors that I am aware of, she uses her heart when she writes. She does not write about meaningless crap she writes about things that matter in life. Most authors that I know of can not write half as good as her. You HAVE to read all of her books! "
— Summer, 10/1/2013" I really didn't like this book, i would get so frustrated with the character and how she acted. I know she was addicted to drugs but it was just weird wording and it was more like reading a strange poem than reading a book. "
