“[Kellerman] does for the American cop what P. D. James has done for the British mystery, lifting it beyond its genre.”

“No one working in the crime genre is better.”
—Baltimore Sun
In Gun Games, the sensational Faye Kellerman once again showcases Peter Decker of the LAPD and Rina Lazarus, arguably the most popular husband and wife team in contemporary crime fiction. A rash of shocking adolescent suicides at an elite Los Angeles private school is at the heart of this gripping thriller that also focuses on the troubled teen Decker and Lazarus have brought into their home: Gabriel Whitman, the son of a psychopath. Herself one-half of one of noir fiction’s true “power couples”—along with her husband, acclaimed mystery writer Jonathan Kellerman—Faye Kellerman once again demonstrates how American police procedural writing is done to perfection with Gun Games.

"I like all of all the Kellermans' novels. They are full of suspense and have somewhat involved plots. The family in Faye's books are Jewish so I enjoy learning some about their faith and their practices. The policeman husband is a converted Jew so that provides more interest."

— Baltimore Sun“Kellerman does for the American cop what P. D. James has done for the British mystery, lifting it beyond its genre.”
— Richmond Times-Dispatch“Kellerman’s devoted fans and readers who fancy thriller/procedural series from the likes of John Sandford and Patricia Cornwell will find much to enjoy here.”
— Library Journal" I like Faye Kellerman, but, this Rina & Peter Decker series is getting very formula... "
— Erika, 2/20/2014" I read about 100 pages of the book and could not read any more. Maybe it was too close to home about kids and guns and whatnot, but being a teacher of inner city youth that live with this kind of violence, I could not get into this book...I don't even want to finish it...or know how it turns out... "
— Terri, 2/19/2014" It's always difficult to read about teens in troubled circumstances but this one captivated me -especially once the reader knew justice would be served. "
— Kay, 2/16/2014" Katie says a 90 minute entertainment....I did not last that long, dull and poorly written even for this author who is no artist. Tortured make-out sessions ofg 15 yr olds.....yawn and grimace. Don't care enough to finish. "
— Dorinda, 2/15/2014" Really enjoyed this. I started it on a long airplane journey, and almost finished it on the trip... couldn't put down. Finished it a couple of days later...hated it to end. I always get wrapped up in her characters; can't wait until the next one's out! "
— Robin, 2/12/2014" Not a bad read. The characters are still intriguing and not dull yet. The plotline was pretty current. "
— Jill, 2/3/2014" Different.... I have not read anything else of hers, so I'll reserve judgement till I read an additional one of hers. "
— Don, 2/1/2014" WOW!! Wow!! Sooo good a perfect mix of mystery and funny loved it! "
— Bobi, 1/11/2014" Love this series. All the characters are interesting and likable. Not a cliched who-done-it at all. This one had a pretty sexy romance going between a 14 and 15 year old. "
— Laura, 1/6/2014" one of her best books "
— Julia, 1/3/2014" This was really awful. One star is one too many. I had to push myself to finish it and that was after skipping many pages that were just too sappy and irrelevant to bother reading. "
— Rachel, 11/18/2013" I did enjoy this book, but it was two totally different stories in one. One was about young love, with a lot of complications, and the other about a gang of nasty kids. Overall, I did enjoy this book. "
— Janice, 10/16/2013" Not my favorite - too much teenage angst! "
— Shelia, 7/19/2013" Slow at first. Couldnt put it down last nite. Stayed up to finish it. "
— Sandy, 5/27/2013" Not up to par--didn't finish this one. "
— Nanci, 11/10/2012" Another good Peter Decker/Rina Lazarus book. This is one of my favorite series! "
— E, 10/30/2012" I normally enjoy Decker novels, however, the love story between Gabe and Jasmine is little more than soft porn. I was uncomfortable it. There was little in the way of police detective plot for the first eighteen chapters or so. Not impressive. "
— Kelsey, 9/23/2012" Not as good as others she has written but generally a quick easy read. "
— Gybo1004, 8/8/2012" Ive read all of this series. This was my least favorite so far. Didnt really like all of the underage soft core porn in this one. Preferred previous books that really deal with peter and rina, although i like the gabe character. "
— Lynn, 7/31/2012" An excellent series and this one didn't let me down. Very Good. "
— David, 4/21/2012" This was not my favorite from her. Slow and I never really believed the teen characters. Faye - you need to go back to what you do best - adult characters with a mystery to solve.... "
