Personal vendettas, hidden treasure, and a monkey named Carl will send bounty hunter Stephanie Plum on her most explosive adventure yet. The Crime: Armed robbery to the tune of nine million dollars Dom Rizzi robbed a bank, stashed the money, and did the time. His family couldn't be more proud. He always was the smart one. The Cousin: Joe Morelli Joe Morelli, Dom Rizzi, and Dom's sister, Loretta, are cousins. Morelli is a cop, Rizzi robs banks, and Loretta is a single mother waiting tables at the firehouse. The all-American family. The Complications: Murder, kidnapping, destruction of personal property, and acid reflux Less than a week after Dom's release from prison, Joe Morelli has shadowy figures breaking into his house and dying in his basement. He's getting threatening messages, Loretta is kidnapped, and Dom is missing. The Catastrophe: Moonman Morelli hires Walter "Mooner" Dunphy, stoner and "inventor" turned crime fighter, to protect his house. Morelli can't afford a lot on a cop's salary, and Mooner will work for potatoes. The Cupcake: Stephanie Plum Stephanie and Morelli have a long-standing relationship that involves sex, affection, and driving each other nuts. She's a bond enforcement agent with more luck than talent, and she's involved in this bank-robbery-gone-bad disaster from day one. The Crisis: A favor for Ranger Security expert Carlos Manoso, street name Ranger, has a job for Stephanie that will involve night work. Morelli has his own ideas regarding Stephanie's evening activities. The Conclusion: Only the fearless should listen to Fearless Fourteen by Janet Evanovich. Thrills, chills, and incontinence may result.

"I really enjoyed this story because Stephanie was forced to help out a teenager and showed some emotion for the kid which was nice to see. I also cringed many times trying to imagine what Joe must have thought having so many weirdos in his house/yard 24-7. Like all the books in the series, it is just as fun to read the second time."

" This is a quick, fun read. Typical Stephanie Plum misadventures, don't expect tolearn anythingfrom this book, but it is perfect for an escapist rainy afternoon! "
— Mary, 2/20/2014" Hurray! Stephanie isnt a total stupid ditz. Much morepaletable. "
— Sarah, 2/18/2014" Good one. I enjoyed all the new characters she introduced this book. And I beleive this is the first introduction of Carl the Monkey who shows up in a "Plum Between the Numbers". "
— Penny, 2/10/2014" I thought I might get tired of Stephanie's antics, but I find myself still enjoying the heck out of these books. "
— Notbagels, 1/25/2014" This one was a lot of fun with "Brenda" the superstar and her stalker. I laughed quite a bit, especially when Bob had to "move" a red thong of Stephanie's! This series is just great. "
— Beckydamoth, 1/25/2014" Cute, but not as god as the others. "
— John, 1/18/2014" Not as good as the rest of the Plum series...I think she needs to change something up at this point. "
— Amy, 1/12/2014" Evanovich is like eating a large bag of M&M's at one sitting. Very satisfying and full of laughs, but certainly empty calories. But who cares. "
— Leigh, 12/31/2013" silly and hilarious. perfect beach read "
— Athena, 12/25/2013" Standard Plum story. Enjoyable but nothing too exciting. "

— Lillian, 11/19/2013" The first half of the series was written much better, this one was predictable and not nearly as funny. "
— Jennifer, 9/16/2013" The usual mix of zany characters and misadventures. Most of the series is fun and quick to read. These are good "take to the beach" books. "

— Mick, 1/20/2013" YAWN! What a drag. I gave up after 40% because there didn't seem to be any point to the story. So many inane scenes that didn't lead anywhere. I'm done with the series, even though I've already bought #15. I won't bother reading it. "
— K.C., 1/16/2013" Another funny, quick to read romp. Popcorn fiction to demolish on a Sunday. Bit disappointed Stephanie didn't get her car blown up this time! "

— Kmeacott, 12/26/2012" Not my fave of the bunch, but still comical. "
— Candice, 11/25/2012" A little too hokey for me -- usually like hers, it was an easy read, but just too . .. "
— Suzsmart, 6/3/2012" This was a disappointment. Seemed like the author was going through the motions and her mind was on other things. Did the author just slap this together to meet her contract with the publisher? If so, she disappointed her many fans. "
— Rena, 3/15/2012" Just bought it today but I love this series. It is very funny and always cheers me up. "
