"This is a good break from 'serious' reading. I like Vince Flynn because he builds the novel around a more conservative approach showing the State Department and the CIA in a light that is probably more realistic than other novels. The writing is concise and action packed and the main character Mitch Rapp is both down to earth and superhero at the same time. It would be interesting to have Mitch Rapp have to kill Jason Bourne but it sounds a little like a comic book storyline. After all how can you pit two 'good guy's' against one another?"
— Rick (4 out of 5 stars)
“The king of high-concept political intrigue.”
— Dan Brown“A fast, fun read.
— People“Flynn continues to ratchet up the stakes for CIA assassin Mitch Rapp, who here battles a Saudi billionaire bent on revenge, an ex–East German Stasi spy, and a deadly husband-and-wife team of assassins…a fast and furious read.”
— Publishers Weekly“Flynn is steadily mastering the political thriller genre; his stories are reminiscent of early Tom Clancy but are more credible and told with the artistry of Raymond Chandler.”
— Library Journal“An exciting, Ludlum-like series.”
— Booklist" Like 24 on steroids. "
— Tim, 2/20/2014" I picked this up at Sam's Club one day just to read while I was waiting for my car to be washed and was instantly hooked. I have subsequently bought most of his books. All very good and give great history on the Middle East and the conflict there. "
— Allie, 2/20/2014" My intro to Mitch Rapp and the CIA Assassin, who defends this country from the Muslim extremists who threaten it on a daily basis. A believable tragic hero, with both strengths and flaws. A must read, Vince Flynn actually interviewed political figures, former CIA Agents, and did extensive research to make this as believable as possible, without compromising our national security of course :) "
— Slopez1022, 2/17/2014" I seldom read a book that I enjoy from the first page to the last, but this one certainly qualifies. I hope we have a real Mitch Rapp lurking somewhere in our government. I think we're going to need him. "
— Sue, 2/16/2014" In a world where Comedy Central (!) won't even run shows critical of radical Islam, Flynn continues to deliver "novels" that accurately portray who's who what's what in the world of international terror. "
— Tropean, 2/15/2014" Omg. I can't believe what he did to Anna. I am so disappointed and thought, well hoped, she was really alive. "
