#1 New York Times bestselling author of American Assassin—now a major motion picture
Vince Flynn’s “high-energy” (Booklist) political thriller places CIA superagent Mitch Rapp in the crosshairs of an enemy even he did not anticipate.
When diplomacy fails and military intervention is inappropriate, our leaders sometimes take the third option.…Mitch Rapp has been assigned just such an “unofficial” task, targeting a German industrialist who is supplying a notorious terror sponsor. But when the mission is dangerously compromised, Rapp realizes he’s been deemed an expendable asset in a power battle on home turf: the choice of Dr. Irene Kennedy as successor to dying CIA director Thomas Stansfield has many detractors, some who will resort to extreme measures to prevent her from taking the reins. But no one counted on Mitch Rapp’s return…or how far he’ll go to find out who set him up.

"This book was a really great book to read if you're already a fan of Mitch Rapp books. It was kind of a turning point in his career, and it didn't have as much over-seas action as most of the books. If you really only read these books for their action, you might be disappointed by how much of this book was dealing with the politicians. It still had action, and some really important plot developments, but it wasn't my favorite vince flynn book."

— Strand Magazine“This is a strong, swift thriller…Flynn sustains the dramatic tension from the opening paragraph to the last.”
— Amazon.com“A high-octane barn-burner featuring the ever-impressive, ever-resilient Rapp.”
— Barnes&Noble.com“Fans of Tom Clancy will enjoy this work of international intrigue…Definitely worth purchasing.”
— Library Journal“Flynn hits his stride in this thriller about high-end Washington politics…[His] high-energy prose sets a terrific pace, and he generates plenty of suspense.”
— Booklist" Vince Flynn is the Tom Clancy but not revolving around the cold war era, and more involved with the Middle east enemy. His books are highly exciting and easy to pick up and listen to on and off. I highly recommend all of his books and may he rest in peace. "
— Will, 4/26/2016" This is my second Mitch Rapp book and enjoyed this one as much as the first. It was engaging and had some intense moments. Not my typical reading material, but enjoyable none the less. "
— Sadie, 2/18/2014" Kept me interested from the first page. "
— Andrew, 1/24/2014" Awesome!!! This was the first Mitch Rapp novel I read that really made me want to read them all in order. I felt like we got to know the main character more personally. Maybe it was the situations he was put in, but I'm anxious to keep reading this series. "
— Christy, 1/21/2014" Very good book! Flynn tells an intriguing story with a mix of very strong characters. The ending left me hanging, though, and now I have to figure out which is the next book in the series! "
— Don, 1/21/2014" This type of book is not my usual fare, but I don't mind reading a "guy" book now and then. This was the first Vince Flynn novel I have read and liked it well enough. It had everything you'd expect from this genre: murder, machismo, politics and a love interest. Not necessarily in that order. There was a nice villain to hate and I think I will continue with this series, just so I can enjoy when he gets his comeuppance. "
— Deborah, 1/15/2014" A very entertaining book. "
— Mark, 1/11/2014" Stupid filler novel for what's coming next in this story arc. Conclusion is a conversation. Dullest thriller ever. "
— Greg, 1/4/2014" Book 3 in Vince Flynn series. LOVED IT! "
— Nikki, 12/26/2013" Such a good spy novel!!!! I need to get the next in the series, quickly . . . "
— Tim, 12/15/2013" This book was okay. I've read quite a few nail-biters in my time but this one didn't keep me on the edge of my seat. It probably could have told the story in 200 less pages. However, it was a fine story and tied up the loose edges neatly. "
— Melissa, 10/22/2013" I'm new to Mr. Flynn, but am thoroughly enjoying Mitch Rapp!! What great stories! And what a hero!. "
— Stephanie, 10/19/2013" The weakest of the Mitch Rapp books I have read so far, the plot is good but does seem to drag slightly. "
— Phil, 9/18/2013" I liked this story - Mitch Rapp's character pulls me in for more and more. I wish the author would go back and tell the back story of Mitch's life that he alludes to. "
— Linnea, 8/8/2013" My favorite Mitch Rapp book "
— Amy, 7/24/2013" It was a quick and entertaining read for people who love Clive Cussler-esque technothrillers. Hah, my girlfriend calls these types of books "romance books for dudes." It's basically like an episode of 24. Loose plot, all action, all the time! "
— Dave, 6/10/2013" Kill MeVery exciting. "
— Normataylor29, 6/6/2013" Fast paced, a good look behind the politics of the War on Terror. It reminds me of when I watched Mission Impossible in the '60s. Do things like that really go on? Concerning Mitch Raap...I hope so. "
— Yvonn, 5/28/2013" Bummed that I had already read the next installment before I read this. Still a good entry. "
— Christian, 2/6/2013" Audiobook. Another good book from Vince Flynn. I read this one out of order...but I still really enjoyed it. "
— Jeff, 2/3/2013" Second book in the Mitch Rapp series. A fun read, but a disappointing sequel not up to the caliber of the first book. I hear they get better. "
— Brian, 10/24/2012" 2.5 stars really. Meh. Was not nearly as good as the previous one. Won't quit the series just yet though. "
— Laura, 10/6/2012" Great series... fur guys only, I think. "
— Michael, 4/4/2012" 3rd book "
— Ciara, 2/14/2012" Mitch engaged, head of CIA dying, Mitch getting out of field - bad guy is Senator Clayton who set him up to be killed. "
— Terry, 1/7/2012" This is the 2nd book in the series I read and I did not enjoy it as much as the first one, which was later in the series. There seemed a lot of unnecessary padding in this book to fill the pages. Still, I did like it and will try another one, "
— Derk, 12/4/2011" I towards the end of this and really like it. The characters are great. I need to get some of these from the library "
— Kirsten, 8/19/2011" Another great one by Vince Flynn!! "
— Scott, 7/9/2011" Not as good as the previous book but still a good Vince Flynn novel. "
— Ryan, 5/11/2011" I liked this book, as I have so far enjoyed the other Vince Flynn books I've read. "
— Kevin, 4/9/2011" Good read. Definitely better than the first book of the series. Looking forward to starting the next book inthe series. "
— Steve, 3/19/2011" Stupid filler novel for what's coming next in this story arc. Conclusion is a conversation. Dullest thriller ever. "
— Greg, 3/12/2011" No ending. Required to read next book. "
— Craig, 2/13/2011" Good suspence - all on gov't (CIA, FBI etc) and terrorism. Lots of characters - hard to keep track of who was good guy and who was bad guy or which 'team' they were on. Worst part - not all things wrapped up- left you hanging. "
— Sharon, 1/19/2011" Typical Vince Flynn political, espionage thriller and that is a good thing. "
— Bryan, 1/11/2011" A good, fast moving book. Action and more action. Interesting and fun, not deep at all tho. "
