Publisher Description

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Jack Reacher comes to the aid of an elderly couple . . . and confronts his most dangerous opponents yet.   “Jack Reacher is today’s James Bond, a thriller hero we can’t get enough of.”—Ken Follett “This is a random universe,” Reacher says. “Once in a blue moon things turn out just right.”   This isn’t one of those times.   Reacher is on a Greyhound bus, minding his own business, with no particular place to go, and all the time in the world to get there. Then he steps off the bus to help an old man who is obviously just a victim waiting to happen. But you know what they say about good deeds. Now Reacher wants to make it right.   An elderly couple have made a few well-meaning mistakes, and now they owe big money to some very bad people. One brazen move leads to another, and suddenly Reacher finds himself a wanted man in the middle of a brutal turf war between rival Ukrainian and Albanian gangs.   Reacher has to stay one step ahead of the loan sharks, the thugs, and the assassins. He teams up with a fed-up waitress who knows a little more than she’s letting on, and sets out to take down the powerful and make the greedy pay. It’s a long shot. The odds are against him. But Reacher believes in a certain kind of justice . . . the kind that comes along once in a blue moon.   NAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY EVENING STANDARD

"There were many moments when the readers of Lee Child's books had to suspend its disbelief. It is interesting though, that pretty realistic description of the US healthcare is a challenge for every European reader who knows how rarely you get bancrupt and targeted by mafia loan sharks when your loved ones get sick. The books is a page turner as always, but I could not get too engaged in the story of Albanian and Ukrainians mob. Probably still thinking about that American healthcare system. "

Quotes

  • “Audiobook listeners can enjoy a thrilling read by narrator Scott Brick, who’s read over 800 audiobooks and is the new voice of the character.”

    — Parade (audio review)
  • “Narrator Scott Brick presents Reacher as strong and determined—at times unbending and at times sympathetic. Brick transitions between the thugs of both mobs and an eclectic group of supporting characters, including a love interest, former military men, and a tech genius in hiding.”

    — AudioFile
  • “The fight scenes are amazing when those full of themselves make the mistake of violating Reacher’s basic rule of (non) engagement. Each novel’s tempo grows in pace, driving the story like a drumbeat to its satisfying resolution (and the reader’s relief). The finale of Blue Moon feels like the third stage of a moon rocket, exploding toward its destination. Wernher von Braun would be proud.”

    — New York Journal of Books
  • “Child is at the top of his game in this nail-biter.”

    — Publishers Weekly

" Jack Reacher fans rest assured this is the real deal. Villains are vicious and victims are deserving of Reacher's sacrifice. And I am almost sure Reacher makes a request at the end of the story I've never heard him make before. Listen for it. I was walking about 2.5 miles a day while listening and the time pasted so fast I just kept walking. The narration is splendid with the accents totally believable. Go for it for sure. You will not be disappointed. "

" This book is -like all of Child's books- a continuation of the character, Jack Reacher as a person who gets involved with everyone he meets and ends up solving whatever injustice comes their way. How Child does this and still manages to keep you on the edge is a skill not attained by very many writers. I really enjoyed the readers as they seemed to be perfect for my imagination - can almost see the characters come to life. The book is entertaining and worth the read. "
