Step into the world of Shadow Falls, a camp that helps teens tap into their special…talents. Once you visit, you'll never forget it—and you'll never, ever be the same. From the moment Kylie Galen arrived at Shadow Falls Camp, she's had one burning question: What am I? Surrounded by vampires, werewolves, shape-shifters, fairies and witches, Kylie longs to figure out her own supernatural identity…and what her burgeoning powers mean. And now she'll need them more than ever, because she's being haunted by a new spirit who insists that someone Kylie knows—and loves—will die before the end of the summer. If only she only knew who she was supposed to save. And how… But giving Kylie the most trouble is her aching heart. Gorgeous werewolf Lucas left camp with another girl, but he's still visiting Kylie in her dreams. And Derek, a sexy half Fae who's always been there for her when she needed him, is pushing to get more serious—and growing impatient, especially when Lucas returns. Kylie knows she needs to decide between the boys, and it's tearing her up inside. Yet romance will have to wait, because something from the dark side of the supernatural world is hiding in Shadow Falls. It's about to threaten everything she holds dear…and bring her closer to her destiny. Awake at Dawn is the second installment in C.C. Hunter's young adult fantasy series.

"This is a good series. I actually read the novellas that came out after the series first so I know what's going on with Kylie. However, it is still very entertaining for me to watch her discover her powers. The end left a little to be desired but I am an adult reading a teen book so I know that I was not the attended audience. lol!"

Kylie is funny and vulnerable, struggling to deal with her real-world life and her life in a fantastical world she's not sure she wants to be a part of. Peppered throughout with humor and teen angst, Born At Midnight is a laugh-out-loud page-turner. This one is going on the keeper shelf next to my Armstrong and Meyer collections!

— Marci, 2/14/2014" At first I was a little worried about how I was going to like the book but I liked alot. It was a very interesting view on the supernatural. "
— Liliana, 1/30/2014" This book is a pretty good book for a Paranormal book. Most of the Paranormal World-building in this book is cliche but based on the things we know about Paranormal beings, I don't blame it. Kylie is another YA heroine who can't stand choosing over two hot guys and faces the challenges of being a tough kick-ass girl. In this book Kylie attempts to find herself and her nature because in the past year of going to Shadow Falls she has been one of the 'anomalies'. She learns to fight back, to let go and to find out who she really is... "
— Jenny, 1/19/2014" Sounds just as good as the first one....except for Kylie's growth spurt! This felt like it was more for guys, because after three sentences of the plot Kylie went back to thinking about her enlarged boobs! Get a life, Kylie. "
— Emiri, 1/1/2014" The series just gets better and better! "
— Kassandra, 12/5/2013" ^^ Hat sich gelohnt !! "

— Vazeni, 10/17/2013" I loved this book... Omg Lucas came back!!!!! But i go for team DEREK!! However Lucas seems to be a bit of a charmer ^.^ "
— Fellynny, 10/2/2013C. C. Hunter is the author of the young-adult fantasy series Shadow Falls. She grew up in Alabama, where she caught lightning bugs, ran barefoot, and regularly rescued potential princes, in the form of Alabama bullfrogs, from her brothers. Today, she is still fascinated with lightning bugs, mostly wears shoes, but has turned her focus to rescuing mammals. She now lives in Texas with her four rescued cats, one dog, and a prince of a husband who, for the record, is so not a frog. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, spending time with her family, or shooting things—with a camera, not a gun.
Katie Schorr is an actor and writer in New York. Her one-woman show, Take Me. Seriously, ran for six months at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, and she performs throughout New York in new works at the Ensemble Studio Theatre and Ars Nova, among other theaters. Her audiobook credits include narrating the novels in Alyson Noel’s bestselling Immortals series. Of her work on the series, AudioFile magazine has said, “Narrator Katie Schorr has a wonderfully raspy, youthful voice, which she puts to good effect on the cast of teenage characters.”
