" Probably the worst Agatha Christie book I've ever read. Normally, her characters are likable, the plot (and how Poirot solves the mystery) is interesting, and the identity and motive of the murderer is surprising but makes sense. In Appointment With Death, none of the characters are likable, the plot is extremely dull, the reader falls asleep during Poirot's deductions, and the murderer comes out of left field in a very loose case. Agatha Christie is a great writer, but Appointment With Death is flat-out terrible. "
