The legendary detective saves his best for last as he races to apprehend a five-time killer before the final curtain descends in Curtain: Poirot’s Last Case, the last book Agatha Christie published before her death.
The crime-fighting careers of Hercule Poirot and Captain Hastings have come full circle—they are back once again in the rambling country house in which they solved their first murder together.
Both Hercule Poirot and Great Styles have seen better days—but, despite being crippled with arthritis, there is nothing wrong with the great detective and his “little gray cells.” However, when Poirot brands one of the seemingly harmless guests a five-time murderer, some people have their doubts. But Poirot alone knows he must prevent a sixth murder before the curtain falls.

"Another brain twister from Christie. I had just read Murder on the Orient Express and on the back cover it says, "Have you read "Curtain"? It was my last case. And I took it to mean that it was his prior case and now it turns out he dies! That blows! Well, I am sure I have a ton more Poirot books to read before I finish them all. I thought the "curtain" thing meant it was all an act, especially when he said he came back from Egypt "better" than when he left, I thought it was all staged for the killer's benefit. Wrong!"

“First-rate Christie: fast, complicated, wryly funny.”
— Time“Gripping, cunning, and devious, and a stunning climax.”
— Sunday Express (London)" Whether new to the genre or a Christie fan, you will enjoy this collection. There is something symbolic in the Classical stories that resonate through the centuries. There is something in Christie's stories that is undeniably rooted in human nature. Paired, you end up with a journey that takes you through several countries, and are presented with many different kinds of riddles. Poirot undertakes to do his own 12 labors. Thoroughly enjoyable. "
— rac, 2/6/2017" My favorite Christie so far (out of ten or so). Hercule Poirot's last case gets to the root of what differentiates an Agatha Christie mystery from so many other writers' -- the source of the solution is always the motive. Poirot questions what drives people to commit murder and finds some rather troubling answers. Highly recommended. "
— Lea, 2/11/2014" Generally love Agatha Christie, but this one was definitely not my favorite. The story is a bit bizarre. Still, for most of it (except the ending) a light, fairly enjoyable read. "
— Sabine, 2/1/2014" Really fun, great twists, and nothing less than what you would expect from a mystery master "
— Kaylorgarcia, 1/21/2014" until the end poirot is amazing. "
— Alfi, 1/16/2014" Honestly, I was slightly confused by the plot line and the interconnectedness of the characters. It was an interesting idea, however, and I liked it overall. Not one of my favorite Agatha Christie books, however. "
— Sarah, 1/14/2014" The story was brilliant, as always, but I did not like it because it portray Poirot as old and sickly, and eventually had to sacrifice his life to solve the mystery.... I did not want Poirot's adventures to end. Good thing, there are still a lot of Poirot books I am yet to read. "
— Wendy, 1/7/2014" Really brilliant, so much emphasis on the psychology. Excellent. "
— Angelyn, 12/12/2013" This one was amazingly deep in presenting a murderer's mind "
— Arya, 12/11/2013" Very good ending to a long endearing mystery character. Well done. "
— Mardell, 12/10/2013" Poirot's last case - with a surprising twist ... "
— Sabina, 12/8/2013" An amazing book - Agatha Chrisite's finale - a book with a stunning climax. "
— Jacob, 10/9/2013" No more mon ami, no more neurotic Poirot with his interesting but effective detecting skills, what an ending to a superb series, look forward to seeing the final five episodes on tv next year, fantastic read "
— Lisa, 8/5/2013" Good mystery, but bad book. Old detectives, like old soldiers, should never die but only fade away. "
— Harini, 7/18/2013" Quite possibly one of the most depressing books I own. "
— Nicole, 4/1/2013" Poirot's last mystery. Very good read... I finally figured out one : ) "
— Eleni, 3/14/2013" The last poirot. He's old as dirt in this one and croaks at the end. Not the best but its the finale so thats something. "
— Azher, 3/13/2013" One word = elegant "
— Ike, 2/4/2013" an irony ... an ingenious sleuth has become a silent murderer in the end. "
