Four women share a determination to stop a killer who has been stalking newlyweds in San Francisco. Each of the four friends holds a piece of the puzzle: Lindsay Boxer is a homicide inspector in the San Francisco Police Department, Claire Washburn is a medical examiner, Jill Bernhardt is an assistant DA, and Cindy Thomas just started working the crime desk of the San Francisco Chronicle.
But the usual procedures aren’t bringing them any closer to stopping the killings. So these resolute women form a group dubbed the Women’s Murder Club to collaborate outside the box, pursuing the case by sidestepping their bosses and giving one another a hand.
The four women develop intense bonds as they track a killer whose crimes have stunned an entire city. It is a killer who thinks, “What is the worst thing anyone has ever done?”—and then goes far beyond it. Working together, the Women’s Murder Club hunts down this most terrifying and unexpected killer before a shocking conclusion in which everything they knew turns out to be devastatingly wrong.

"I'm new to reading fiction for leisure, but this book was one of the best so far. The narrator was upbeat, entertaining, and easy to follow for extended periods. I also enjoyed the plot and story-line of the book. My one complaint is that while listening to the book whenever I attempted to bookmark my location the app would accept the time-stamp but it would be associated with the introductory "Thank you" track, not the actual track, causing me to have to manually record my location in my Notes app. Twice during the book the bookmark pointed to my actual track and time stamp. Wasn't a deal breaker just a little annoying. Overall good book. Time for the next one in the series :)" — Slow Motion (4 out of 5 stars)

" Great beach reading, but not his best. "

" I finally decided to read the Women's Murder Club series. I'm hooked! I love the Lindsay Boxer character. The plot moved fast and really kept me engaged in the story. Great book! "
" I thought that this book was really good. There were times where I couldn't put it down. "
" Best murder mystery series featuring strong women. "
" Loved it! I read it on holiday and it gets a big thumbs up from me. I do think he took on a big task trying to write as a woman, and he does get it horribly wrong sometimes but that doesn't take away from it being a great book. "
" I enjoyed reading about women doing police force work. "
" Its a good mystery series. As the books go on, it becomes increasingly clear that the assistant writers are doing most of the work, and Patterson is stamping his name on it. That's ok with me, because they're still fun to read. "
" Think I may have to continue this series! "
" Great beginning to series. "
" Had a hard time getting past the gruesome-ness of the first murder right off the bat, but after that I really enjoyed this book. Quick and easy to read, felt very "Castle-esque" in the way the characters related to each other. "
" I liked it for what it is: a beach read when I want to relax and just be entertained rather than think. "
" Wish the TV Show worked out. "
" thank god for the twists "
" Wonderful, full of suspense and crazyness. I love all the twists and turns. Can't wait for the next one "

" This book was suspenseful and a good read. "
" I read it because people have told me they enjoyed the Women's Murder Club series. "
" It was ok. I could definitely tell that it was not written by a woman, which is a shame for a book about 4 females who solve murders together. "
" started it, didnt love it and put it down. then ran out of things to read, picked it back up & finished it up. it got better in the middle. good enough that i may read the next in the series. "
" Looking forward to next books but hope they are not all rape/ sex mutilation murders. "
" Livro leve. Boa leitura de praia. "

" Great book. It keeps you guessing and make you part of the club. "
" I loved it! I love James Patterson and as always he rocked it! I love his short chapters and jaw droppers at the end of almost every chapter "
" I wasn't a fan of the ending, felt like he was wrapping it up too quickly. "
" Eh. Story was ok, not his best work. Kind of hokey. "
" Patterson did it again, great book, keeps you interested from beginning to end. "
