"Oh, Davey!! This book was so important to me after my dad died. Davey, like me, was shocked when her dad died (though he was killed in a robbery, not by cancer), shocked that horrible things really can just happen out of the blue. The thing is, so can good things. So can Wolf. I love this book."

" Found this in my parents' basement and had to reread it! "
— Alexandra, 2/15/2014" I have the same hardcover I had as a child and I still re-read it. It is one of the many books my childhood was effected by. I will pass it on to my daughter. "
— Cat, 2/14/2014" A well done young adult novel about a teenager trying to deal with the murder of her father and the emotional help she receives from Wolf, a young man she meets at the bottom of a mountain in New Mexico, and his father. "

— Annaleigh, 12/29/2013" I haven't read any Judy Blume since I was about thirteen. I loved her as a kid, but didn't realize how simple her writing style was....which would be why it's written for sappy teenagers. "
— laninaki, 12/28/2013" Fabulous young girl's experience into finding herself. "
— Sara, 12/8/2013" this book was banned from my elementary school library, but not from the ramsey county library (minnestoa). oh how i love this book. "

— Mell, 3/15/2013" Great story of how family members deal with the sudden death of a loved one. In addition, it includes issues of socio-economics classes and racism. "

— Catherine, 2/4/2013" I think I especially liked this book, because it was one of the first "real" chapter books I ever read. Its simplistic, but real for a person who has a lost a parent or knows what it is like to not have a parent in their life. A sense of something missing. "
— Martha, 1/27/2013" A story to read when procrastinating about something. Though there were bits that were quite sad I found the book nothing special. I was most disappointed with the character Wolf. In my mind he should be kind of like a wolf, quite, insightful, wise... but maybe that's just me. "
— Simone, 12/17/2012" It was an ok book. It wasn't the best book ever. "
