"This was a different book with a different feel to it. Nevertheless, I was hooked from the beginning. The characters were compelling and the story was really well-thought out. It's about family, lies, betrayal and murder. A book that I couldn't put down."
— Lubnaa (5 out of 5 stars)
" Oh why did I read this book and waste good reading time? "
— Marie, 2/18/2014" This is pretty much a soap opera in book format complete with a touch of romance and a dysfunctional but powerful family. Instead of 'Who shot J.R?' we have 'Who shot Danny?' "
— Elaine, 2/7/2014" liked the book very much. "
— Karleen, 2/6/2014" I generally love Sandra Brown's books, but this one wasn't my favourite. For me the characters were all rather unlikable, and the tension unending throughout. I'm not attracted by sexual attraction so overpowering that people who claim to hate each other are nevertheless involved . "
— Elizabeth, 2/4/2014" Beach book I never got to...quick read, but good story line. Predictable, but entertaining. "
— Leah, 2/4/2014" Set Lousiana, its the story of an estranged daughter, her 2 brothers and her father who is runs a iron foundry that is the major employer of the small town of Destiny. Dad runs things with an iron hand and has regard only for is bottom line, its his way or else. His oldest son is a chip of the old block and learned daddys lessons well. Her plans change as she begins to suspect that the death was not a suicide after all and stays to delve into what really happened. Lots more going on, but you will have to read it yourself to find out who, what and why. "

— Marie, 11/10/2013" Sandra Brown has delivered another intense and suspenseful story that kept me on the edge of my seat until the end of the book. If you like a rollercoaster ride of intrigue and surprising twists in your reading, I highly recommend this story. "
— Sharal, 10/31/2013" Somewhat predictable true to Brown formula. Guy with hidden agenda, falls for gal with attitude & seemingly conflicting agenda. At least it's not poor girl, rich guy, etc. "
— WK, 6/26/2013" Sayre went home to Destiny after her brother died. Was it suicide or murder. Her father was a devious person so should she believe him? "

— Gina, 12/18/2012" This is one I am going to have to stick in my didn't finished shelf. I couldn't finish listening to it. Not because of the narrator but because of the book itself. Sorry Ms. Brown this one was a miss for me. :D!!! "
— Debi, 11/6/2012" Written well. These types of books are good when you just want pure entertainment. Definitely a quick read, but good. "
