"I liked this book a little more than the previous ones because Betsy is finally accepting her queenhood lol. She stands up and says " listen to me bitches!!" and they do. The only thing I didn't like is that Antonia (the werewolf) dies and Garrett turns into a wimp. Otherwise pretty good. "
— Shannon (4 out of 5 stars)
“The best vampire chick lit of the year.”
— Detroit Free Press" fluffy goodness! "
— Rachel, 2/16/2014" This is a little darker that the first six books, and while I am not a prude, I agree with one other review that there is a lot more swearing than in the previous books. This is the beginning of a story arc according to the author's note, so I will wait to pass judgement until I finish the arc. "
— Kim, 2/11/2014" I take this series of books for what it is: fun, light reading. I enjoy all the characters and their dialogue immensely. "
— Monique, 2/10/2014" I listened to this on audio and what an enormous mistake! I was already having difficulty with the changes that seem to be going on with the author (this one did not have as much random sex and horrible useless swearing), but it seemed so empty-you keep saying to yourself-what is the point. Plus the person reading it made Tina sound like a ditz and she is probably the smartest one in the series, she made Jessica sound like a whiner-when Jessica takes no names, and she made Betsy sound even more stupid than she already is. So...on top of already having trouble with the changes the author has been making in the series or her writing style, the reader totally ruined it for me. "
— Kara, 2/1/2014" It was an interesting departure from what I'm used to with this series. "
— Patrice, 1/25/2014" This series seems to be in a downward spiral. Not very impressed with this book. Shame, because the first few books were brilliant. "
— Jenny, 1/16/2014" I was a little bored by this one. Nothing new or exciting really happened in the story. "
— Catherine, 1/12/2014" Great mindless fun! "
— Skoorb, 12/17/2013" I liked her previous books with single story but having the next three books be an arc leaves me anxious for the next "Undead and...." book. I like how Betsy is evolving and finding new powers that nobody seems to understand (yet). "
— Cynthia, 12/10/2013" Finally, a Betsy book that I wouldn't have resented paying for. She went with less is more. Less lightweight, less crude, less self-centered. The author said this is the first book of a three-book arc. I'm certainly looking forward to the next one. "
— Jodi, 12/4/2013" Solidly meh. An easy read, a quick read, and it even did a good job of reminding me of plot points I'd forgotten from previous books, but still, just meh. "
— Jini, 11/30/2013" So the story continues. I wish there was more to read about their fun in between the sheets in this book .I felt like there was more going on between the characters. I still like it I am reading #8. "
— Robin, 11/22/2013" Awful piece of crap- 7th in ser, badly written, annoying, that?s it! "
— Michelle, 10/28/2013" Not as good as the others in the series. More profanity than I remember in the others. "
— Lori, 9/19/2013" I never appointed by her books, this was the same it funny, sarcastic, and had me wonder what going to happen in the next book. Great book as all ways from her. "
— Char, 9/15/2013" I love that Betsy went off to face the fiends on her own. This is exactly what I wanted to have happen! I wanted her to be a QUEEN and not like Daphne from Scooby Doo waiting to be rescued all the time. I hope she and Nick become friends and that Nick and Jessica get back together!!! "
— Holly, 6/13/2013" whenever I need a light hearted paranormal read. MJD never fails to provide it. I am far from a girly girl and have such little interest in shoes, but for some reason I love this series. "
— Kelly, 3/30/2013" 3.5 stars. Quick, fun and easy read. I love the characters, just wanted a bit more from this story, though the ending was pretty good. Great series to read. "
— Julie, 10/5/2012" The author believes kidnapping and rape to be romantic and sexy methods of gaining a spouse. Any reasonable person will forgo this author so they don't throw up from the message that abuse and sexual assault are ways to show you care. "
— Rochelle, 6/14/2012" This is my favorite book in the Queen Betsy series! Betsy has come a long way and it is really GREAT! "
— Bree, 4/27/2012" Not quite as entertaining as the last book, but still a fun read. A little more serious than previous books, and I found my opinion of some of the characters changing -- especially Nick. I'm ready for the next book and what is in store :) "
— Chelsey, 12/11/2011" The author believes kidnapping and rape to be romantic and sexy methods of gaining a spouse. Any reasonable person will forgo this author so they don't throw up from the message that abuse and sexual assault are ways to show you care. "
— Rochelle, 5/5/2011" Good story a little different than the other books. Betsy a little less, well Betsy like, stronger less needy. Some of the old characters gone or changed in this book, which I liked. I took this book was the Transition of series to keep the series alive. On to book 8. "
— Bud, 5/4/2011" It was ok...kind of childish, but maybe that was because I didn't know what was going on. For the first time ever that i can think of I read the 7th book in a series before all the others. "
— Jani, 4/29/2011" While I still like Betsy, I feel like the stories are getting a bit stale and shorter! I think I'll put her down for a while and take a break from the Vampire Queen for now. "
— Stewie's, 4/18/2011" Another quick easy read in this series but no new info??? Hope the next few r more fun! "
— Stefani, 4/5/2011" This series seems to be in a downward spiral. Not very impressed with this book. Shame, because the first few books were brilliant. "
— Jenny, 3/14/2011" i enjoyed this book alot more then the last one, it seemed to be writing more like the first few books in this series.<br/>i was upset about antonia's and garrett's death, i thought they where fantastic character's and i find it sad that they wont be in the next books. "
— ?, 3/5/2011" The writing was definitely a lot more "ballsy" in this book. There were some horrifying events taking place. I cried real tears. TEARS! I tell you! Kudos to Ms. Davidson for giving her story some "balls". "
— Laura, 3/1/2011" Not quite as good as the rest of the series. "
— Amanda, 2/26/2011" Starting to get kinda bored with this series so pautting it aside for now ... "
— Sassychassy, 2/24/2011" she needs to just listen they keep getting in fights because she is so stubburn "
— Ashley, 1/21/2011" I've got to say, I found the main character, well all of the characters pretty damn annoying. Sorry, just couldn't "like" any of them. "
— Lauretta, 1/6/2011" I did not like this one as much as I liked the others. I read these books because they are a quick read and usually have me laughing. I finished this book in less than 24 hours but I did not laugh much. "
