MaryJanice Davidson-the self-proclaimed "anti-Anne Rice"-is a USA Today best-selling author who has also cracked the extended New York Times list with her fresh and funny vampire novels. Starring vampire queen Betsy Taylor, the stories delve into an underworld where creatures of the night not only fear sunlight, but also pay their bills on time. Christmas is approaching, and since the holidays are a time for friends and family, Betsy takes stock of her situation. Her half-sister is the devil's daughter. She has an evil stepmother. A despicable creature lives in her basement. Most unsettling of all, she has a spring wedding to plan. But just when Betsy thinks she may not survive the holiday season, she has a pleasant thought-she's already dead.

"She starts speeding up and skipping over things in this book. Some of the lines are repeated from the previous books verbatim. I still enjoyed the story because it seems to have matched exactly what I was going through during the times that I read each one. She mentions silly real life experiences that I felt so alone in until I read her series."
— Star (4 out of 5 stars)
“Davidson’s witty dialogue, fast pacing, smart plotting, laugh-out-loud humor, and sexy relationships make this a joy to read.”
— Booklist" **** 4th in series "
— Taunya, 2/3/2014" Okay, the premise of the series is, simply put, 30 year old very pretty blonde with champagne taste and beer pocketbook dies and comes back as a vampire. But the hurdles she jumps with each successive book just makes me want to be her BFF. Easy reads, fun, romantic and adventure in each bite....I mean page! "
— Beth, 1/29/2014" Keeps getting better with each book! "
— Lynne, 1/20/2014" This book in the series took a slightly different twist. Instead of dealing with paranormal heroes, Betsy has to deal with a regular guy...if you can consider a serial killer a regular guy...this actually brings many more problems to the surface that im sure will be expanded upon in future books in this series! "
— Holly, 1/9/2014" betsy..betsy...betsy... "
— iyah_khin, 1/8/2014" Another fun story in the life of Queen Betsy. She can be a bit annoying at times, but also very funny. More new characters. I like seeing the progression of George. "
— Sandy, 1/8/2014" While this book was entertaining, it was hardly as good as the 2nd book in the series and not too much happens, kinda slow, action-wise. I am really enjoying this series though and cant wait to see what is going to happen. "
— Danielle, 12/2/2013" A breeze to read. Betsy and her posse get into amusing situations. "
— Shirlee, 11/29/2013" eekk man her sister is super creepy i mean how could she do that with a straight face not a twitch not a noise that was crazy awesome book "
— Ashley, 10/16/2013" Consistently fuuny and a real page turner! "
— Poppy, 9/7/2013" I could not believe how many error typo's are in this book. Some scenes were written so badly it was confusing. I could not tell who is speaking, or thinking. It was confusing. However, these books are hilarious! "
— Lissa, 9/6/2013" Love this lighthearted vampire series! It always keeps me laughing. Betsy is the best vampire ever! "
— Joy, 8/22/2013" Same good characters as always. Dont like where this is heading with her sister starting to turn all nasty but glad that she and her beau made up and he's not gonna let the book of dead ruin what they have. Will continue on in series of course. "
— Colleen, 5/4/2013" Great book. I am glad things are somewhat working out in Betsys life. This book sure had some developing in the characters. I am very anxious to see where they go next! "
— Billie, 1/19/2013" I definitely think this series has lost it's spark for me. Really enjoyed the first two; the past two have been pretty much - eeh. "

— Daelith, 9/10/2012" great summer reading series "
— Gerry, 7/16/2012" Great book, but not as funny or enjoyable as the other ones. It was shorter than the other ones, too, so that was kind of sad. Hopefully the next one will pick right back up with being funny. "
— Shae, 4/27/2012" It's total fluff, but I found it funny and entertaining. "
— Ruth, 9/3/2011" Another Betsy book, even more to love! I can't put these books down! "
— Laura, 7/24/2011" Enjoyed Betsy and Sinclair as always!! "
— Tracy, 6/27/2011" I absolutely love these books. I am reading one a day right now!! Onto the next! "
— Sarah's, 6/10/2011" The author believes kidnapping and rape to be romantic and sexy methods of gaining a spouse. Any reasonable person will forgo this author so they don't throw up from the message that abuse and sexual assault are ways to show you care. "
— Rochelle, 5/5/2011" randomly chosen from my piles of books scattered about the house. book 38 of 2011 - aim 133 books in 2011. "
— Tania, 4/10/2011" Another fun read from this undead series.... nothing major happens except a few "omg" "gasp" moments, especially with Betsy's sister Laura and George the fiend. Honestly not much to say, either you like the series and will continue to read or not. "
— Alexis, 4/10/2011" Fun, light read. Very entertaining - but it lacks action and plot. Still, I enjoy Betsy enough to read the next in the series. "
