Merit, Chicago's newest vampire, is learning how to play well with others. Other supernaturals, that is. Shapeshifters from across the country are convening in the Windy City, and as a gesture of peace, Master vampire Ethan Sullivan has offered their leader a very special bodyguard: Merit. Merit is supposed to protect the Alpha, Gabriel Keene—and to spy for the vamps while she's at it. Oh, and luckily Ethan's offering some steamy one-on-one combat training sessions to help her prepare for the mission.
Merit must accept the assignment even though she knows that she'll probably regret it. And she's not wrong. Someone is gunning for Gabriel Keene, and Merit soon finds herself in the line of fire. She'll need all the help she can get to track down the would-be assassin, but everywhere she turns, there are rising tensions between supernaturals—not least between her and a certain centuries-old green-eyed Master vampire.

"Chloe Neill delivers again! Without a doubt this has got to be one of my favourite urban fantasy/paranormal romance series EVER! I was hooked from book one and the series only seems to be getting better. Neill's established vampire world has now evolved to include those of other supernatural backgrounds. Merit with her quirky, sassy nature is truely a delight to read about, she constantly serves to entertain throughout the good and the bad. The introduction of new characters gave the story a nice twist that led to plenty of action packed scenes and emotional breakouts (from me that is). Overall i think Neill has delivered another superb novel to add to her already spectacular series and i am not so patiently waiting for book 4, Hard Bitten!"

A refreshing take on urban fantasy.
— Publishers Weekly“Briskly paced…Merit’s frequently snarky voice and amusing observations about the occasional absurdities of her situation combine with the magic of Neill’s world in a refreshing take on urban fantasy.”
— Publishers Weekly“The pages turn fast enough to satisfy vampire and romance fans alike.”
— Booklist" This is my favorite in the series so far. Great story line between the vamps and shifters. We get some delicious development in the tension between Sullivan and Sentinel. We also finally learn Merit's first name! This secret has bothered me through the first two books and half of this book. I really enjoyed the audio on this one; great listen. "
— Julie, 2/6/2014" I hate Ethan Sullivan! I hate him so much I Love him. I hate that I am borderline obsessed with him. Ethan Sullivan will be my demise.... "

— Deborah, 1/26/2014" Chloe Neill is one of those authors that just gets better and better each book. Twice Bitten, continues the adventures of new vampire and Sentinel Merit. This book made me laugh and cry, while the whole time I just wanted more. As always, I yearn for the next installment, and wait anxiously for it. If you haven't read the first two books, "Some Girls Bite" and "Friday Night Bites", try and read them first. You will love these books! "

— Rochelle, 8/15/2012" I like this series but they always start so slooooowly with an interesting center and end on a high note. I'm beginning to really like Meri but the jury is still out on Ethan. One chapter I like him and he next I can't stand him. "
— Barbara, 7/5/2012" Loved it! Lots of action, drama, political intrigue, vampires making stupid decisions and of course fighting. Fabulous ending! Can't wait for the next book in the series to be released. "
— Nora, 1/29/2012" Love this series. It's funny how I keep changing my mind about which hero I think would be best for Merit. Right now I'm cheering on Ethan. "
— Keri, 10/24/2011" I LOVED this third book. I am now completely addicted to the Chi Vamp series. Well written, great creative thinking, wonderful characters (both good/evil), great sense of humor and a scorching romance. What else could you want? "
— Janne, 6/29/2011" Oh my gosh, utterly amazing! Unfortunately, also considerable language and a sex scene. "
— Abby, 6/12/2011" Boys are all the same... real or fictional... human or vampire apparently. I'm still finding the excessive use of the word "acquiesce" in all it's forms annoying but I love the characters and am hooked on the stories! Can't wait to read the next one! "
— Stephanie, 6/9/2011" It's about time they got together!!! <br/>Although I did see the Adam part coming. He had too much to say for a peripheral character. "
— Bibli-ophelia, 6/7/2011" An amazing book in an amazing series. If you like vampires, good mysteries and a lot of sarcasm read this series. "
— Ellie, 6/4/2011" Uhm, yeah, WAY too racy for a young adult book. Seriously there is a pretty raunchy sex scene. It was a good read, but not something I think I'll read again "
— Jeannette, 5/31/2011" I so love this series. Merit is funny and sassy and the kind of woman I like. We get to see just how strong Merit is in this book and how stupid men can be. I am looking forward to reading the next one and seeing if Ethan can win her back. "
— Kerry, 5/31/2011" well this book was great at first then ethan had to go and do something stupid but that is to be expected but i loved the shifters and the ominous prediction so can't wait for next book "
— Ashley, 5/25/2011" another solid book in the series...with just enough of 'what in the world' ending to make me anticipate the next book! I can't wait! "
— Leslie, 5/23/2011" I'm liking Ethan a little bit more, I found it very entertain and enjoyable, but there's no way I'm reading Hard Bitten, before Drink Deep comes out, not in a mood for cliffhangers. "
— Lupdilup, 5/23/2011Chloe Neill was born and raised in the South, but she now makes her home in the Midwest—just close enough to Cadogan House and St. Sophia’s to keep an eye on things. When not transcribing Merit and Lily’s adventures, she bakes, works, and scours the Internet for good recipes and great graphic design. Chloe also maintains her sanity by spending time with her boys—her favorite landscape photographer/husband and their dogs, Baxter and Scout.
