Publisher Description

Luke Dantry tells people he has a job on the cutting edge of the war on terror—only he knows it’s nowhere near as adrenaline-filled as he makes it sound. Luke’s nightly task working for his stepfather’s Washington think tank: Go undercover from the anonymous safety of his computer and seek out a wide spectrum of extremists who vent and organize online—a group he comes to call the “Night Road.” Now and then he encounters someone who may have the capability to make good on his threats, but Luke figures that the vast majority of his targets are simply frustrated malcontents.

When Luke is kidnapped at gunpoint and left for dead in an isolated cabin deep in the woods, he realizes his work has made him a target, and that the Night Road is far more organized than he thought—and much closer to home than he could have ever imagined. After a daring escape, with both the Night Road and the police on his heels, he must quickly decipher a complex, murderous, and global web of connections that takes him to Chicago, New York, and Paris. The final questions extend deep into his own past, and Luke alone may hold the key to stopping the Night Road before their horrifying plans turn America—and the world—into a battlefield forever.

"Luke Dantry, a psychology student works on the computer finding individuals who are potential terrorists for his step-father, Henry. Luke's father died in a plane crash years before and his mother died in an automobile accident. Henry asks Luke to come work with him but before he can begin, Luke is kidnapped and taken to a cabin in the woods where he is chained to a bed. Luke thought he had covered his travels on the computer well but it seems he did not cover them well enough. When his step-father is phoned to deliver a ransom, he refuses and Luke wonders why. Luke seems to be in the middle of a huge conspiracy and he discovers he can only rely on himself to unravel the puzzle. A fast action book, difficult to put down. Looking forward to reading more books by this author."

" I don't think I care for this author much. This is the second book of his I have listened to. The story line itself is ok, but it's just not very exciting. Nothing that happened made me care about what was going to happen. "

" Another good read. Good guy gets drug into a situation he doesn't understand, but triumphs in the end. Just because you know the formula doesn't mean you can't enjoy the ride. :-) "

" Entertaining thriller although no real surprises and the twist at the end seemed somewhat implausible. Took it out of the library to pass the time being delayed in the airport over Christmas and it entertained me well enough and gripping enough that I wanted to keep reading. The major criticism would be that it is maybe a bit too violent for my taste. "

" I liked this book a little better than the last one of his that I read. The suspense was just as intense, but there was a surprise twist near the end that I didn't see coming, and I love those. "

" It has a quite good storyline but I found the book kind of draggging. There was something missing, the suspense just didnt seem so gripping. Definitely not much of an 'unputdownable page-turner', I think. Maybe I'm too used to the fast-paced thrillers of Dan Brown and the like. :) "
