Publisher Description

Best-selling author Linwood Barclay's The Acciden tinspired Stephen King to comment, ''With this novel, Barclay vaults to the top of the suspense pantheon.'' Trust Your Eyes follows schizophrenic Thomas Kilbride, who believes he's a CIA operative, as he explores and memorizes the streets of the world through images he finds on the Whirl360 website. While examining an image of downtown New York City, he thinks he sees a woman being murdered. Compelled to investigate, Thomas is soon drawn into a web of conspiracy and lies.

"I am a huge fan of Linwood Barclay, and think he may well be the best thriller writer in the genre. He has a masterful ability to weave multiple (and I do mean "multiple") story lines into a page-turning narrative without confusing the reader or complicating the plot. This one is interesting. Not a whole lot happens early; it's more about the relationship between two brothers. But stick with it. The story eventually takes off, the payoff is great, and the last page will knock you sideways."

Quotes

  • “Some days, all you really want is for someone to tell you a wicked-good story. Linwood Barclay answers the reader’s perpetual prayer with Trust Your Eyes, an offbeat thriller about a schizophrenic savant who witnesses a murder but is so clearly nuts that no one will take him seriously.”

    — New York Times Book Review
  • “Linwood Barclay’s delightful new novel…is expertly plotted, and he moves easily between sweetly comic scenes and entirely sinister ones…[A] nice balancing act…Trust Your Eyes is superior entertainment.”

    — Washington Post
  • “The genius of Barclay’s intricately convoluted design becomes increasingly apparent…engaging main characters grab your heart even as the plot makes it stop.”

    — Publishers Weekly

Awards

  • A 2013 Barry Award Nominee for Best Novel

" This was a great book to read after Sarah's Key. Very entertaining and light. I love the way Linwood Barclay takes you to the end of the book, you think it's over and then - WHAM - he hits you with a twist in the last few pages. An easy read. "

" Although I am a Barclay fan, I was disappointed with this one. Too many crazy plotlines, and it could have been edited down at least 100 pages. I hung on until the end, but a lot of skimming through to get to the end. I did like the characters of the brothers. "

" There were so many plot lines in this book that it bordered on the ridiculous. This is the first book I have. Read by this author and probably the last. Lots of others reviewed this book favorably on Amazon so I based my decision on that. It might have worked with about a 100 fewer pages. "
