To her family, Natalie Seebring is a woman who prizes appearances. So when she announces plans to marry a vineyard employee mere months after the death of her husband of fifty-eight years, her son and daughter are stunned. Faced with their disapproval, Natalie decides to write a memoir.

Olivia Jones lives vicariously through the old photographs she restores. She and her daughter Tess have no one, so they cling to the fantasy that a big, happy family is out there somewhere. When Natalie hires Olivia to help with her memoir, a summer at Natalie’s beautiful vineyard by the sea seems the perfect opportunity to live out that fantasy.

But all is not as it seems at the vineyard in Rhode Island—Natalie is not quite the mothering type. Simon Burke, who runs the vineyard’s day-to-day operation, sees in Olivia and Tess an unwelcome reminder of the wife and daughter he tragically lost.

The Vineyard is a fascinating story of two women, a generation apart, each of whose dream becomes bound with the other.

" Wasn't sure at first if I'd like this book...seemed like it could be a bit stuffy after just reading the inside cover, but that quickly changed as I got past the first 10 pages. Very touching story about long lost loved, sacrifice and dedication. I loved the historical aspect as Natalie told about her love story with Carl through the Depression and WWII. "

" Before I've decide to read the book, I had this inkling that it's going to be a very boring one but I was WRONG! The story is really something! And it's the kind of story that I really want to read all over again. Natalie and Olivia are both the heroine of the story. They may be both be different in so many ways, their age, perspectives in life and so many other things. But what made them both connected towards each other is their passion towards love. They both may have done it in so many ways but it something that gives them strength towards all the challenges that they've faced in their daily lives. Olivia have lived her childhood days longing for her mother's love though she didn't get it but she was given a precious gift to love unconditionally, her daughter Tess. And then as she move on with her life with her daughter that's when Simon came into their lives, giving all the love and care that they've been longing to. And as for Natalie, she lived her earlier years falling in love with her childhood friend Carl.Though they weren't meant to be at first, she give all her dedication and love to her husband, children and to the vineyard. And as she grew older, fate has given her the chance to recover that long lost love. But there were challenges along the way especially from her very grown-up children. I must say, this is a very good novel and I really liked to recommend it to all our readers. :D "

" This is a wonderful escape book that makes you feel good. It shows the courage that women have always had in life. I love books that outline families and how they perceive each other, especially when it deals with children's perceptions of their mother and the reality that the mother faced. Definately a book I would read again! "

" Too fluffy for my liking. Good character development and beautiful description of the actual Vineyard and of Natalie when she was surviving the Great Depression. Other than that is was not great. "
