The Maxwells and the Popes have been friends forever. The women were college roommates, their husbands are partners in the same law firm, their kids have grown up next door to each other, and the two families share both vacations and holidays.
Like Wisteria Lane, the "perfect" suburban street of Desperate Housewives, all is beautiful and serene -- until an accident forces these close neighbors to look beneath the surface. And when their idyllic lives are unexpectedly shattered by a moment that can never be erased or forgotten, their faith in one another -- and in themselves -- is put to the supreme test.
In this moving, unforgettable story, Barbara Delinsky exquisitely captures the depth and complexity of the human heart as few writers can.

"Barbara Delinsky is one of my favorite authors, however this book started out kind of slow. But I stuck with it and really enjoyed it. Barbara has such a great way of developing the characters in her novels. I look forward to more of her books."

“Intriguing women's fiction.”
— Publishers Weekly" I enjoyed this book and was invested to what would happen to these two families. in one way, it seemed realistic in describing the two marriages, one completely attracted to each other and in love, and the other just in a comfortable situation with children. Both scenarios believable. She shows the power of true love and the forgiveness of the human heart. But becoming friends again with the people they cheated with was a little too much. Enjoyable read. "
— MJ, 2/20/2014" Bout half way through and disappoointed in it. Not great character or setting development and predictable plot. Too soap opera-ish. May not finish it for the next book club mtg.: Just finished and skipped through the last chapter or so. My opinion of book didnt change much "
— Dorothy, 2/16/2014" i picked up this book as it was a recommended author similar to jodi picoult, who i have been reading a lot of lately and really enjoy. this book just didnt do it for me. the complete basis of the book wasnt believable. while the aftermath was interesting, i just couldnt get past the event itself. there wasnt enough build up to make me believe it. — Kimberly, 12/1/2013" This story was interesting because of the trials the two families experienced--after the brief indiscretion. Being that I'm married, the story helped me appreciate my devotion to my husband & vice versa. Also, More Than Friends helps me appreciate the values my husband and I share. "

— Lidia, 1/29/2012" I don't think I'd recommend this book - the main storyline was fairly weak and unbelievable. However, the "side" stories kept my interest. I feel it had a "fairytale" ending, but Delinsky's writing kept me reading! "
— Cathy, 11/26/2011" At first this rather irked me,as the whole story is based on such a random and somewhat implausible incident, but it was interesting to see how such a seemingly perfect family fabric could unravel so drastically. "
— penelopewanders, 11/18/2011" Really like Barbara Delinsky. This only gets 3 stars because it didn't hit me like some others.<br/>I couldn't make myself accept the story line as written. Two families that have spent their life together from after college on......what worked and what didn't. "
