" This was my first time reading The Hobbit, and I loved it. Tolkien's writing makes you feel as though your grandpa just sat you down for a story. I read this after already being a huge fan of the Lord of the Rings movies and now can't wait to see the new Hobbit movies! How they're going to split this book up into three films I have no idea! "

" 3 stars mostly for The Hobbit. The Lord of the Rings was simply a "must-read" b/c that's what was popular at the time. I'm not big into fantasy so it was somewhat a difficult if not mundane task to finish off the series. But The Hobbit was certainly a worthy read. "
