Publisher Description

The Cahills thought they were the most powerful family the world had ever known. They thought they were the only ones who knew about Gideon Cahill and his Clues. The Cahills were wrong.

Powerful enemies — the Vespers — have been waiting in the shadows. Now itu2019s their time to rise and the world will never be the same. In Vespers Rising, a brand new 39 Clues novel, bestselling authors Rick Riordan, Peter Lerangis, Gordon Korman and Jude Watson take on the hidden history of the Cahills and the Vespers, and the last, terrible legacy Grace Cahill leaves for Amy and Dan.

"This book is called Vespers Rising by Rick Riordan. It is the eleventh book in the thirty nine cluse series. This boook is about some of the majer cahills that helped shaped their family, Gidion Cahill, Madilie Cahill, Grace cahill, and Dan and Amy cahill. Each story takes place in a different time period. This book is mainly a mixture of storys of the characters conflicts with their enemy, the Vespers. The Vespers are a organization rather than a family, like the cahills. The Vespers are trying to recover a ring that Gidion Cahill had when he made the master syrum, which makes the person who drinks it, have powers that are unbeliveable to anyone. I would recomend this book to people who like books that like action adventure books."

" Four authors on this one - count 'em! Three take on the task of creating the 39 clues back story on three important characters. The last moves forward the story from the first 10 books. It all works and is well paced, giving this series a fresh new road to careen down. Rick Riordan is most certainly not done with this series and (see any of my previous posts on him) I hope he continues to get help from his friends. "

" I enjoyed the first ten 39 Clues books. Although the plot was completely implausible, I loved how they managed to work historical details into a mystery/adventure series for kids. I was happy to discover that they would continue to add books to the series after the clues plot line ended. I was very disappointed with the execution of this book. Kids who were very familiar with the format of the first 10 books might be confused by the four segments. I didn't really understand the reason for this change. The sections that were set in the past seems to have no regard for historical accuracy at all and the same information could have been conveyed during the adventures, as it had been in the earlier books. " I thought the series was over with book 10, but here's book 11 that's both a prequel and then the final installment (I think). I really liked how they wrote this book. One of my biggest annoyances is prequels, however, they take this book and make it both a prequel and a sequel. "

" This is a good intro into the second series of the 39 Clues. I have been impressed (with the exception of one book) how multiple authors are keeping a series going with continuity. In this book 4 authors each write a section of the book, and it flows well. I am looking forward to the next book. "
